I have been collecting parts and doing a little here and there to the chassis but had not been able to find a body that I was comfortable with until last week. I found a decently solid complete car. I'm super excited now!

    The plan:

    1931 coupe

    59ab

    39 toploader

    F-1 crossmember and pedal

    40 rear

    53 f-100 front brakes

    Unchopped

    Thickstun intake

    Dropped axle

Stock frame z thickness of frame

At least that is the plan for now!

I see a battery, fuel line, plug wires, and gas in the sediment bowl.
So how does that 59 ab run with that Thickstun intake?

  4. Good body and then some!! Lucky guy.

It seems to run good. Although I have only ran it on a stand.

Well today wasn't really productive I mostly cleaned up the huge mess I made yesterday taking to body off the old chassis and putting it on the other chassis I have been working on. I did get the wishbone mounts tacked on and the steering arms dropped and installed the tie rod. Ignore the strap hooks those are to my temp Trans crossmember aka a strap. I'm getting the all the f-1 stuff this week hopefully have it in this coming weekend. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443383490.302659.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443383504.517771.jpg

I got my steering box, pedals and shock mounts this morning. Gotta wait on the rain to stop to get the Trans cross member out of the doner truck.

I think tomorrow I'm going to move the box back like Pete did on his coupe so it fits up under the manifold with out hitting.

Heated and bent my shock mounts.

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443907482.756095.jpg

Installed shock mounts and cut up the original head light bar and use parts of it to mount headlights off of the shock mounts.

Interior shot with steering column mocked in.

Ok I was just taking a little break. Hopefully I'll have another update later tonight.

Got my spring perches yesterday! Thanks to Matt at New England speed! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443983326.893395.jpg

So now it's a roller! Time to take the body off and shorten the drive shaft and torque tube.

Only had a little time in the shop tonight. So I clean up the front backing plates and primed them. And put the hardware in the tumbler.

Can you show some more on the crossmember installation and modification?

Started priming some parts but ran out of daylight and the light in my shop stinks! I don't have any plans for this weekend so hopefully it will be productive!

Someone long before me put metal on the roof! When I first got it I was totally going to go back to canvas but the more I look at it someone took their time and did a pretty "nice" "neat" job with it. It's kinda growing on me. But I don't know? Anyone know if this is something that would be considered traditional?

Had a change of direction with the Trans mount. Having to fab my own up because every f1 crossmember I had a line on fell thru and I got tired of searching.
