    Hi guys
Just got back from the cranksters rod run and can say that it was again a magnificent event! Enjoyed it immensely- great club and fantastic bunch of blokes running the show - thank you guys.

Attached is pic of a wild hammered coupe that rolled in, this coupe blew me away.

Pickup didn't make it, I just couldn't identify a noise in the engine that I needed to fix and ran out of time. Took the coupe and after 9 months of neglect it ran like a dream! Great to again be looking down that sleek pointed V of the bonnet blasting down the highway again..

Spot on Tommy it was great day yesterday. Lots of great cars, really good music and also Tommy won himself a trophy for his coupe, well deserved mate. Hers a few quick snaps that I took.

Tommy & Gary, thanks for the great feedback. We try to keep it fresh each year and we already have a couple of ideas for next year's event. Thanks for the pics Gary (the first 4 are Crankster cars). I didn't get much time to take too many myself this year. Got to have a brief conversation with Tommy, but no beer yet........................

That was a blur of a weekend. Thanks for the feedback guys, it make it all worth while when you hear that the Hot Rodders are enjoying the weekend.
Tommy it was great to finally put a face to the name and thanks for the look over you're coupe on Saturday afternoon.
The five window is Mr Lucky's latest toy (Mick Jones) it's the real deal old HotRod. Just before we had a look at you're coupe Gazza helped him with a front end adjustment and then of course had to "test it out" on the dirt road going to the boat ramp pushing the nailhead pretty hard!
Thanks for some photo's I didn't really get to walk around the car show.

Thanks Cam and Dave for your replies, all credit to you and your fellow club members!! I honestly believe your model of running an event should be copied by all other clubs who have lost touch with what these events are all about - Hot Rodders and there families...and not strategised to death by accountant types, you honestly do a magnificent job and I say so sincerely.

FB you didn't hit your leg on that back panel did you???

  13. Not exactly Tom, I was sitting in the back with my legs hanging out when the brakes failed and we went backwards down a hill and I got pinned against a hd holden.

Yeah Chopped was everything it was meant to be and more, the attendance would have been double compared to last year I would think? And it took forever to get in on the Friday but was well worth the wait.
The strip also was allot shorter then previous years, I guess that had to be considering last years accident which was a bit disappointing but hey it was still dirt drags and lots of fun was had by all.

FB hope that leg is getting better....

I didn't speak to the owner but a reliable source tells me this old Aussie roadster was hot rodded way back and when the owner died his widow kept paying registration for more than 20 years until the current owner bought it.

Ash Cave built 2 Hot Rods this year. He built this tub and then bought it over from Adelaide to try and sell it at Greasefest.

Then in the last three months he built this roadster for himself finishing I just before Chopped with enough time to drive around the block as a shake down before driving it the Ten hour trip over.

That's probably half of the car photo's I took. I also took a few bike photo's.
I had a strange year at Chopped the good was good, I saw lots of cool cars and bikes, caught up with friends and made some new ones. But unfortunately there were a lot of people more interested in a camp party than a car show (who we had to camp next to) and with that came a lot of silly and disrespectful behaviour.
I will probably attend the show next year but I think I will explore accommodation other than camping.

Cam i am sorry to read about the roudy neighbour issue at Chopped, i am not suprised with this though - it seems to be drawing the wrong crowd and i personally am not a fan of the event.

just writing to confirm with you all that the pick up is DONE! i have sorted out the engine issues and drove it to Coreys Hot Rod Breakfast in Woodend yesterday with a small charging issue on my return journey to deal with. Looking forward to a summer filled with crusin in the old work horse!
