  2. Looks great. The bump on the trunk lid on these can be a bit of an eyesore in standard form.

Thanks for the support! I haven't had a chance to touch the damn thing for a couple weeks. Work is going to be a beat down until late November. I hope to get a few hours in this weekend. Hope to post up some pics then.

I'm impressed, looks like you can fix about any body panel.

Thanks for the support. I'm just trying to learn and develop a skill set. Work has been brutal. I've been consulting for a cruise line company and have been gone for about 3 weeks at a time. I touched the car for the firs time in a while yesterday and wound up redoing the skin on the rear edge of the deck lid. There are issues with the first one I did. The re-do is better but I still have some concerns. I'll try to snap some picks for advice. Thanks

Alright! I got to work in the car in a meaningful way for the first time in weeks. I've been messing around with the deck lid and decided before I finish buttoning it up I better replace the tail pan and finish fitting the gaps to the new sheet metal. I also began replacing the rear section of the trunk floor. The panels are from EMS and seem to be very nice quality. Still some fitting to do but it's a start. I hope not lol. At least the car is such a rusty mess I'm not scared to cut it up. It's cool to see some shiny metal for once though. Hope to get some work done tomorrow. Thanks for the support!

I remade the rotten wheel well/ fender lip brace. It's not tacked in yet and I think I might re-do it so that it matches the contour of the wheel opening. Good practice anyways. 26. @Devin you are the most gettinest stuff done for a no time havinest dude i've ever seen.

    Freaking outstanding.

I just bought a '50 coupe with similar rust issues in the sail panel/rear window opening/beltline. I was looking at it going 'I have no idea, but i'm gonna hafta figger it out.' This thread is PURE inspiration!

So stoked on your ethic and progress. keep it up!

    Hey Altered Pilot,

Thanks for the kind words and support. I'm a chef and I've been consulting for a cruise ship line lately revamping their Food and Beverage program. I just got back from being on one of the ships for almost 3 weeks without a day off. To say that I've been chomping at the bit to work on this project and clear my mind is the understatement of the century. I had he last couple days to just work on the car and it's been awesome. The sail panel / belt line is a bitch, I sort of figured it out by accident, I don't have any real skills, its more of a lack of fear of fucking up on an already fucked up car lol. I'm trying to document everything in hopes that it helps someone else out down the road.

Awesome work. You car has lots of rust like mine, it feels so good to weld in new metal though right?!
