  4. Hey Mark, would a few of the Buick grill "squares" look good above and below the bumpers in the two smaller cavities?

  8. I really like that green Ford, Sancho. I have not seen that one before. The yellow and white Chevy used to be from Little Rock not too far from me. I haven't seen it in quite a while, dunno if it's still around. Was built and owned by a guy name Robert, I think...can't remember his last name. He's a Beatnik, though, I remember that. :)

  9. Robert Roling. :) Don't know if he still has it.

  10. Yup, that's the dude. He had it to Ft. Smith in the mid-90's (?) and I just thought it was a way cool car, but I didn't get a chance to meet him. Saw it on the street one day in Little Rock maybe 10 or so years ago right as he was walking to it, so I got a chance to introduce myself. It ended up being in TRJ several years ago and I think he had a custom shop in LR at one point, but I have never been by there and not sure if he still has it. Cool car and cool guy. :)

  11. He did have a shop there, I believe he still does. "Kustoms Royale"

It was in Wichita in 2000 for the Anniversary Spectacular. It looked like this then:

I've seen it before, but honestly I can't remember who built it. I think I remember one of the "legends" built it, but may be mistaken.

It was created by the late Ray Erickson.

Ray was the head of the Kansas City Timing Association at the old drag strip. The mower won a trophy at the Grand National Roadster Show. He was a legend in the KC area and a truly a great guy.

    Jimmy,
Ray brought that creation to Greaserama one year to share it with a younger generation. It was a big hit at the show that year. Ray drove a dark blue Hudson with yellow flames. He was no stranger to the hamb either. He was a wealth of early rodding information and a very friendly guy.

    That looks good!!!
Now you just need to add some padded upholstery tuck & roll side panels, then maybe hydraulic front suspension, followed by a bubble top.
    Looks good, love your work.

  20. I was eating chicken shawarma in Sterling Heights when that Buick rolled up and a couple got out and walked into eat.....I asked for a seat near the window to stare at that car....would have been about 1999.....really nice car. The odd thing is I have never seen it again, not even at any east side shows

That's right, I remember seeing it there and talking to the guy or him showing me a pic of it with the trophy at the GNRS. Thanks for jogging my memory!
    Missed you at Wichita man!

Jimmy, I did not make it to Wichita. However I was able to see three members of your family in Lamar, Mo; but not you. The boys are growing like weeds. I hope to see you all this spring. I hope to have my cancer issue behind me.
