That's the Sidewinder from the late 1950's, driven by Jack Chrisman. Transverse mounted Hemi, chain driven if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, more pics to come.

Howard Cam Special, Top Eliminator at the 1961 Winternationals in Pomona with Jack Chrisman driving. Much of it is the original car, including the same piece of plywood that acted as one of drag racing's first airfoils. No frills, just getting the job done!

The black 34 -5w coupe, belongs to Bob Lindsay (Shedd Or.) is Y-Block powered, his Brother Jim's red oxide coupe is alongside.

 

Great pics as usual Tom, good thing you got the ' blue 554 clone ' as it went through the lights on its roof from what they say and I heard the driver is OK
