As a very young child in New Jersey, I sure remember the characterization on the trailer. But I don't remember the name -- maybe "Sparky"? I even had a small profile model of it for years, that must have come from the local electric company.

Here it represents Mountain States Power, so it must have had a nation-wide theme of sorts.

" Reddy Kilowatt " me thinks. Gary

  6. Yup, the photo is of a Mountain State Power Company parade truck (became Pacific Power and Light) which called a similar character Reddy/Ready Kilowatt. Must've been a national promo.

  7. Yes, Reddy Kilowatt was a national symbol begun by the power companies in the '20s.

  8. I believe that's Charlie Wise's roadster. He was the first president of the Philadelphia Modifiers hot rod club that was formed in 1955 and is still in existence.

This shot, not as old as most, is by far one of my favorites with a truck I built in the last year, the fellow in the shot sold the garage in pic. And is almost moved out, had it since"55" in Medina NY. He must be in his 80's, I feel very Honored to have him in a shot with a place that will Soon be changed for Ever...

I gotta be honest, I don't know anything about hotrods or what's traditional, but this one is perfect:

  22. That is a great shot of the garage, truck, and Mr. Evans. Personally, I'd blow it up to an 8x10, frame it, and present it to Mr. Evans.

No accident that 59s parked there. Look at the shape of the end of the canopy.

Just caught up on the last 4 pages or so. Great contributions everybody!
