It was probably a 66 w/a 389 and tri-power as that was the last year of the power train cited. I don't what year this was offered to you, but I sold a restored 68 4spd. Verdoro Green Convertible with the "Drag Pack" for 2500.00 when it was worth nearly with $9k right before the stock market crashed in 87....... I felt a 34 3W Ford was worth more so that is what I bought as a builder (it was the down for my house in 95). That's Life......
Do I kick myself nearly daily-heck yeah!!!!! Luckilly I still have the 65 GTO Convert that I bought for sister in 1980. It's a auto though again w/o power accessories other than power top. I've restored it twice for her, next time for me ;).

  4. I think 46Steel meant that he doesn't have a car or truck that eluded him because he just finished his dream truck. The truck in his avatar.

I don't believe he was referring to the Don Hentzel T truck at all.

    Could be wrong tho.

Last car on my list is a 57 Chev Belair coupe, my first car in 1964, probely will attempt to trade my 51 Merc for one in the future, have not finished with my 51 Merc project, just installed a GM 350 crate and want to enjoy it for awhile, driving it, some details yet to be done. I'm a very lucky man, still have my health and still playing w/ cars.

  9. When I started this thread my thought was of a car or truck that we might at some point in life be able to own,my dream is not as extravagant or astronomically priced as some but dreams are just that, dreams.

I might be able to someday find my simple dream of owning a '50 ford coupe...but there is no way on Gods green earth I will ever own the Doane Spenser roadster. :D HRP

    Two from childhood...
57 Sedan delivery. My uncle had one with a big block and 4 speed, with a straight front axle. He kept telling me it would be mine when I turned 16. He sold it without letting me know 6 months before my 16th birthday.

59 corvette like my neighbor Mr. Cox had. Silver and white nacelles.

  11. 66 nova. Almost had an SS back in the late 70's but couldn't scratch up the 3500. that the guy wanted for it. Been in the back of my mind ever since. :)

Good choice, we bought our 67 Nova in '83 for $1000, still have it, drove it only a total of 100 miles, which was in the first 6 months, a lot of major mods over the years, as well as some plan changes have relegated it to a long period on and off jackstands. Wish it was HAMB friendly, as I'd love to share photos.

Problem is; my pc died, leaving everything in photo pergatory.
Should have listened to my wife when she said to get them on a backup disc.
Gotta get a geek over here I guess to extract them.
    I'm really suffer'n with this notebook p.o.s.
I may have to pm you for album setup.

man, I can relate. My home pc kicked the bucket a while back, and I was using my wife Ipad for about 3 months. What a royally useless PITA. I have a guru that rescued everything from my old laptop and burned it onto cds so I could load them on to this computer. 10 dvd's full of old hot rod photos and seventies/eighties street racer and car show pics. Now I gotta get him the clean up and fix the old laptop so I can use it with my RacePak.
If you need to pm me on the album setup, and I will try to walk you though it. honestly, I am not that great at it myself, but I can probably help you get a couple set up. I want to finish off my '66 wagon in 2016.

image.jpeg When I was 14 or 15 (in the mid to late 50's) and riding in my folks' car, we passed a used car lot where there was a maroon '40 Ford sedan. An older acquaintance bought it (and he still has it) but I lusted for that car ever since. I did have a 40 coupe for a time, but it wasn't the same. Early this year I found another here locally and the owner was wiling to trade for my '57 Chevy Windowed Sedan Delivery. So I finally got my maroon '40 tudor. Sometimes your wishes come true.

I've been wanting a car that doesn't really exist, at least not that I would be able to buy. I want to putt around in an early 60s Indy car. They're just so beautiful....

That's what I have been thinking about doing. It's a long ways off, though.

Yeah, I think you're right about it being a 66' and not a 67'. It was 1983, and I'm embarassed to admit I didn't have space for it because I'd gone on a "no project car" tantrum, and bought an almost new Japanese Sportscar. Should have sold that, bought, painted, and reassembled the GTO, and probably put 5k back in my pocket to boot.

  24. I have had one of those before, they are high maintenance. Well not the car the car is a chebby you just drive it.

  25. 63 Chevy II convertible. I've run across a few, but none in my budget. One day I'll find one, I'll paint it black with a black top, the interior I'm not sure red or maybe black. But I have to find one first. Bob

I worked with a guy who had a 63 only year for SS, it was silver with black top and interior.
It was a great looking car, he put a 327 in it (non Nova block), real nice driver, moved to
Hawaii and took it with him. Can you see that thing cruising the island. I sure can.

I have 2 cars I would love to own. A 49 or 50 olds coupe and another 56 or 57 T Bird like I had back in the late 60's.

In the long run the car will be cheaper. I have told my son " If it has Tits or Wheels it will give you trouble"
