Vintage shots from days gone by!

Cool shots! I remember carinvals like these would roll into town for a few days, then move on... They would "load & unload" the kids on the fly, without even stopping the ride!!! Check out that aluminum house trailer in the second photo... nice!

 

Dig the enlistment poster on the side of the Railway Express truck... I miss the days when the country was proud of Uncle Sam being a Bad-Ass!!!

 

Interesting looking car. It appears to be fairly small. Anyone know what it is?

 

It looks shortened and narrowed. Very interesting. Maybe Model A front fenders and '34 Ford rear fenders.

 

Breitenbush Hot Springs

 

That's just wrong!

 

My dad and uncles hunted deer in the Santiam Canyon a lot, this is close to Detroit Oregon, my dad helped build the dam at Detroit lake.
My wife and I went to the hot springs in the mid 80's and it looked like a hippie commune, now I hear that the Russians have kind of taken over the springs.

I'm only a young fella, but I grew up in Ipswich and all my siblings were born there. My FC Holden was sold new at Faulkner Motors in '58 and hasn't ever really been outside the greater Brisbane area.

This looks like an ARDUN motor, kinda odd really. Clearly an old picture but before nostalga was cool, they could've gone to the junkyard and gotten a 392 hemi for pocket change.

 

What am I missing here ? The vehicles on the ferry are facing towards the wake. Must be it turns when docking.
