Yep Tom that's the deal right there, the ' Frantic Four ' wheels up layed over with Norm smoked in

Great shot from the rear don't see that very often, they were sure one of the heavy hitters

Tom, It's funny you should post that last picture, I have been thinking about the "Frantic Four" re-creation built around 2000. Tom Willford mentioned the angle of the engine was different than the original car, and they possibly used a 9" Ford rear axle, with a different pinion height than than the old car. Do you have any pics of the re-creation ? Thanks for your great photo work.

No, Marty, don't have it; the shot above I saved from HAMB.

D.N.D, did you have your blue coupe in GNRS recently? Looks familiar.

    Hi Tom

The 37' is in a private collection in AZ and he does not show it, what a shame that people do not get to see an original gasser from the gasser ' Hay Days ' of the mid 60's

There were several 37's back then that were painted about the same color blue

Thanks again for your great pic's and time posting them for us guys to see

    Don

And I promised extreme dump, I aint about to let you guys down...
Shubert & Herbert, probably the hardest running TF chevy of the era...

I was thinking about my observation that chevies generally ran more "dump" than Chryslers in light of DRERacecars comments, couple of things came to mind, 1) as a general rule chevies had the motor farther back, which would tend to exaggerate dump, and 2) they were built down to the ounce, the Shubert & Hubert car did in fact run an aftermarket light alloy early ford style third member.

Regarding "Dump" I was told years ago that it had to do with trying to keep the pinion gear from climbing the Crown Gear and doing Wheelies. The claim was for every degree of dump a certain percentage was gained on keeping the front axle down. True? False? I would love to know from some of the Guys that were there and building them. I know a tire smoking Clutch car will be entirely different than any Automatic/Convertor Combination, this question is about the tire smoking Clutch cars.

So do they actually drive these cars or just haul them around and look at them? Some of them look way nicer than they ever were. Nice pics.

The year I went, I was amazed by the amount of people that left when the nighttime cackelfest was about to begin. That's one of the reasons I wanted to go.
