Swapped wheels with my 54 F100. First time the 40 stake truck has worn mags on the street.

  4. Love those wheels, what brand etc are they?

  6. Gary, those are Ford factory truck slots, from the mid-late 70's. I remember seeing them on pickups, broncos, and econolines. They have 3 screw holes for big ugly center caps that I believe were flat black. I found them on Craigslist for $100, and figured they'd work great to replace the 15x8.5 and 15x10 5 hole slots that were on my 54 F100.

A while back (page 21), I posted a few photos of the stake truck in a photo studio. This afternoon, a buddy sent me this photo from the 2016 American National Insurance calendar. I am still blown away that they would use photos of the truck in their marketing materials.

  9. Thanks for that info, I have a set on a 46 coupe that was imported from the States to Australia and I had never seen them before. I change them around between steelies and the 5 slots from time to time.

  11. Way cool. I probably need to have mine blasted and coated, eventually. Here's a photo of what they look like with the big honkin' center caps.

Bright sunshiney Sunday morning! Lets see some shiny noses, eh? Gotta keep this thread going until at least New Years Eve. 10516691_360483940811490_1071526810440217617_n.jpg 11800032_412314158961801_1489340552096783599_n.jpg 12234934_440690622790821_4236676315187186290_n.jpg

I couldn't take my 40 for a spin due to an unplanned garage door replacement at my mother in laws, but here are a few more early pics of my 40.

This isn't the only '39/'40 I have seen from back in the day with '49/'51 taillights. I like the separate nerfs and the frenched plate with expanded metal behind it on this car.

Sorry, I don't know. The gold one in the background of the 3rd picture is Lee Pratt's car, though, which was in TRJ a long time ago.

pretty sure it is, you cant see it in the front 3/4 I posted, but it has the same bumperguard on the back. Its in TRJ #52 if you want to take a look. interesting car, early sixties survivor with a 327 and chevy 3 speed hooked to the stock column linkage, it has been repainted in the same colour, but otherwise intact. Really neat vintage copper and white interior.

Mine has the same outfit for the interstate. Can you not close the hood with the hood nose piece on? I can't.

  26. No bra for me. The old girl got her licks over the years!

a After a giant deer ran across the road in front of me on Sunday morning, I came to the realization the season is over. My poor 40 is literally a half inch from the wall and the vette is a half inch from its other side. Winter storage sardine style!! Wow, you have an even bigger fleet than I had realized! What's under the Impala on the lift? And what is/are your winter driver(s)?
