I think it is just the angle of the dangle playing tricks on the eyes. Look back at other photos and it looks correct.

  2. I'd agree with this. There is quite a bit of distortion in the black and white picture, so I think it's just an illusion.

  3. HAHA yup the picture of the picture looks like the passenger side headlight is laid way back as well. Looks really great Jer!

I just got the garnish moldings, gettin' 'em ready for the plater. I want to get a couple of good pics outside before I take the last of the chrome to the plater.
I'm at the place where I'm not makin' dirt anymore. That means a final detail that can last, pics to follow.

I just finished reading this thread through from page 1.I have been a machinist and mechanic for about 50 years now,40 of those in a VO-TEC school teaching Harley-Davidson motorcycle repair and of course building cars and motorcycles on the side .I have done a fair amount of repair type body work and paint. The point to this is I know what I am looking at-You Sir are a master! I have NEVER seen anything like this and feel privileged to see it here.Thank you!

The brackets have to have the old holes welded up and redrilled 003.JPG 004 (4).JPG , when this is done they're spot welded in place. Thanks Steinauge.

I had a real problem getting the vent assy's refitted. I couldn't understand why until I remembered that these are different garnish moldings. Everything became easy after I made "everything" adjustable. Duh...eventually you get it, after doing things over and over. What was once a challenge becomes commonplace. 005 (2).JPG

004 (3).JPG I've sent out the grille and garnish to the chrome shop. They're saying a minimum of 6 weeks, whoopy. Here's another shot of the new nose (inside)

  18. I haven't checked in here in a little while, the car is looking amazing.

Had a little time to play. The photos aren't exactly 100% the same angle, and even the lens that was used can cause slight distortion, but I'd say it's pretty darn close...

Big A, I don't know how you did that, but I appreciate it very much. It's much better being on this side of things than the other. Thanks!

  21. Wow !! Yes all you need are people and some hot rods in your paint reflection .... like the above animation and you're done. That is great !!!

  22. No problem. Pretty simple photoshop actually. It really illustrates how close you are.

The gif wouldn't animate in the HAMB app for Android, so I pulled up the thread in the web version... SO worth it!!! Absolute perfection!

I found this thread a few days ago and spent everyday working through it. It is like that novel you can't put down. What a great build. Just a ball's on car. I don't know how many times I shook my head in wonder at the things you did. But it wasn't until you started cutting on the finished car to change the grill just a wee bit that I asked the question; "Is this guy fucking crazy?"
    Hey! Just poken at ya.
