Getting so the work window is only about 3 hrs. now outside. Did get a little done today enough so now I have to decide what I'm gonna do for a center cross member so I can locate everything.
Finally got some room so I could move it inside, poor old Worthington had to go down to the barn for the winter. How do you like the table Bob?
Someone is going to have to restack his wood pile now that you've shown us the proper way. Frame table looks great. Bob ..................Happy Thanksgiving!
Yes it is, I have an old louvered hood to match it. Just have to figure out how I'm going to lower the radiator.
Looking good so I am following along with this one. You do a very nice job of stacking wood if I may say so.
Thanks, the doodlebug clock was the key haha. This thing is going to be harder that I thought the firewall is so short I'd have to have a 18" radiator, so I tried to cheat the front cross forward and drop the radiator behind it but to use the hood I wouldn't even have room for a u-bolt even after trimming some material of the front cross so I just had to walk away and take a break maybe the solution will come to me tomorrow.
Hello Sir, Mickey C here, I notice the wheels on the bug in your avatar. I have been trying to find a set of these wheels to use on a Frankland quick change under a 32 I am building. Would perhaps you know where a set of these or some wheels that are similar might be obtained? Thanks, Mick
Thank you for the tip. I agree a bit pricey. I need a wide five bolt pattern those would not work for me. I thought they would be high dollar, but not that high!
This is awesome!!! I've envisioned building something like this having grown up around doodlebugs. Kind of a what would my grandpa build thing. He was s big time tinkerer.
Love the back wheels on that one. Is this the one that has a Roadster body on it now, out West some were? Sold this '29 cowl and burned all the wood last year. Bob
Bob, It went out west and did get a roadster back put on then went to Germany I think. I should have kept that one the engine was killer, that went to Calif. and was in a '36 3 window last I knew. It had Cyclone heads and twin Winfield carbs.
Kind of funny how we collect all these bits, make a car out of them then sell it, and it gets parted out. My very first car got parted out but the body raced at this years TROG. Bob
NICE COLLECTION! I've got a nice present in mind for my 65th that should help get both A bodies back together. If you need a Winfield instruction booklet let me know, I made copies. Bob
You should know haha. I went and looked at a '32 Austin Bantam body today it would have fit but it was too rough for my limited skills. So if anyone has one for sale in decent shape I'm looking for something to plop on this frame.
