Nice looking restoration Marty! What a cool and unique Dragster.
I bet it would like a smooth Track like Mission and a bumpy one.... Not so much!

It ran 8.91 @ 180 in 1961, on 40 percent ! Was ranked "Worlds Fastest Chevy" for a couple of weeks, until "Champion Speed Shop" recovered the title.

This is a great shot of Gene Cromers mustang. I believe that he made his own fiberglass molds off of a real mustang and the car also had some steel sheet metal on it too. Maybe the rear quarters. Once in a while the Moonlighter Willys would race the mustang in the finals and he would get a crew member to drive one of the cars.

I really grew up in the wrong era! I would do anything to go back in time to these days!

Maybe it came down too hard from the wheelstand at the launch?
    It really is crooked!

Maybe the pilot is looking around the right side of the blower and cant see the left wheel

  19. The dragster in question is Pete Robinson's Tinkertoy.
Looks like a working straight axle 60's camber AA/FD suspension to me.
Remember that picture is shot at least 1/500, probably 1/1000 of a second.
It also looks like Pete has steered it a little bit to the right, it was likley in motion on every axis in the split second this pic was taken.
I'm sure it was straight after it came back down.
