Projects 63 Falcon Gasser (South East Gassers)

  1. Gabe, this is TOP SECRET!!! SO DON'T TELL A SOUL!!! I've been thinking about this route for some time. You ought to take a look at 1952-56 Morris Minor Series II & 1956-1965 Morris Minor 1000's. They are 86 inch wheelbase (E-ticket ride), and I believe, lighter than Anglia's in stock form (Donovan sucker punch). They are also way more plentiful, and a bunch cheaper than an Anglia. Also, I have some pretty good engine parts to build a 306''-333" small block Chevy, that I'd be willing to trade for a paint job. I do have to admit, that ultimately, a 302 based small block ford would be a fantastic place to start, since they are lighter than a Chevy, and more compact not to mention shorter pushrods (less deflection), shorter connecting rods (which the chevy would like, but the 9.000 deck makes to the piston to tall, top heavy, and just heavy. Anyway, I'm trying to live vicariously through you since, we aint ever parting with ole Porky the Child. Remember, DON'T TELL ANYONE!!! I was never here, and you never saw me, shhhhhhh....faaaade out.

Funny you should mention it, i found one for sale here locally last week that would make a good gasser! I kind of have my heart set on an austin a40 , preferably a two door. Don't be poking me too hard to go chebby, i still like my Fords! Hopefully the 2017 race season will see a car with a 90" wheelbase and a 10k+ rpm small block ford coming out to play. I've already built it about 2,000 times in my head, so it shouldn't be too hard when it comes time :)

    Yea just Quain's old axle.
I changed mine over to a stock willys axle and here comes Donovan and Gab toting my old stuff out the back door. Donovan stole what was my spare brakes, and last time I seen what was a spare axle it was going out the door. Check out the hours in drilling the axle and steering arms. I got over a pound from each spindle. And everybody said a speedway axle would never hold up LOL.
All I can think about is all of this money some think the SEG is making me.

I think you might be better off buying a four door Austin and converting it. Your going to pay way more for a two door and then your going to want fiberglass anyway. They all have the same wheelbase and roof. If you do a search you can find pics of conversions.

    My brother's Morris....2300 lbs with him in it. 406 SBC/powerglide and a MoPar 8 and 3/4ths. Ran 10.32 in the 130s.
We used mild steel 2x4" [.125"] for frame but you could save some weight with chrome moly. He's about 5'7" at 150 lbs and fit ok.

Thanks! The car 60' is pretty good considering the worn out slicks and the ladder bars :)
