Hot Rods 1934 ford survivor Milwaukee

  1. Don´t throw the frame away, just so you can make it look like every other 34. It is what it is.
    I think it has a bit of a Dan Woods vibe with the wide tyres and tube frame. I´d run with that.

    great that there is some backround history on this unique ride. hopefully more later info/pics will show up. I agree with the plan to leave as is for now. can always change stuff later.

  3. The frame is unique and looks strong and well built. The only thing I would do is change the wheels, paint the chassis black and cut the front frame back to the grille shell. Great score btw!

  4. I will be at the Milwaukee WOW show and look forward to meeting you and seeing the car.
    Got an email from an area hot rodder, today. He tells me that, the original builder lived in Waukesha county and has a brother that may be in northern Illinois. The original builder was involved with late model stock car racing that, may explain the stout chassis construction. Check your conversation folder for the names.

    Bumping just because this is a cool story. And I'm pretty sure that flamed '34 was in a Hot Rod feature late '70s early '80s by Gray Baskerville, except wearing Moon discs on the Ansens. Seems like there was a recent shot of it looking the same except with skinny tires.

    Kool ! Clean it up and drive it like it is, it's a unique piece of history and a Great conversation starter, Definitely not a belly button car I read about on here, yet some want you to make it into a rod like all the rest, Great Find, Lucky you !

  9. My thoughts exactly, and paint that tube frame, be nice to cut that frame at the firewall.

  11. at the time that your 34 was built, a place called Johan Tube, on the east side of Milwaukee, was the go to place for bending up roll bars, crossmembers, nerf bars, exhaust system parts, etc. That is about the only place that I recall that, would have been able to bend up the frame tubes for the 34.

    Its not what most would consider running for the chassis but it looks to be very well built and engineered. I dig some of the odd stuff like that. I dont know if I'd run it like that if it were mine either, but it is a cool chassis for the time period.

    That car is a time capsule full of soul. I'd leave it as it sits and drive it. Make changes later on after you get to know the car.

    That steering wheel looks Mopar-ish but I can't place what it came from, any ideas?

    with the large single tube rails and independent front and rear kinda looks like emulating a Cobra. High Tech for its time, but what they did to the Corvette trailing arms looks clunky today

    that thing is really cool... normally I wouldn't be into that frame but its so well made from that time period it makes it rad! Must have been fun to bring to shows when they first finished it back then... that was way ahead of its time! Thanks for sharing pics-

    I love channeled 33/34's with 32 Grill shells. Unfortunate about the chasses, I'd be torn on what to do with this one. body/interior is killer.
