  3. to the OP, we know the pearl white "A" coupe was built back in the time frame that you are looking for pictures. The Chev coupe with the "W" motor looks like a current build or is it an old Wisconsin hot rod that some one has saved? more info, if, you have it, thanks. Curt R

My Roadster was found in Sun Prairie Wi, close to Madison. It had a 50 olds engine and a 37 LaSalle trans in it, with the old slicks and a linelock. The front wheels were changed at some point and the rear end had the barber pole stripes on it. It was a drag car as the street car equipment was an add on much later. Never found any history for it but southern WI it is. The license plate is a 1963 WI. Gary img793.jpg img792.jpg

  7. Hi Kurt....The Chevy Coupe is indeed a later build than the rest and was featured a few years ago in R&C as I recall. Having said that. I admittedly am hungry enough for cars from the area I outlined, yes sir :) enough to try to sneak a later car in. If the Car causes too much trouble, I will delete it, though I think it shares the traits of a Traditional car far more than many I've seen posted on the HAMB. The White Coupe has been seen more lately than years ago. The first time I saw it was at the Night Owl Show in the mid '80's when the Low Rider Clubs were still coming up from the Sterling/Rock Falls area.........Let me know....Centurion9

  8. I don't have a problem with the Chevy coupe. My understanding is that you wanted pictures of cars in our area that, were built in the 50's and 60's or before. If, you want pictures of 50's and 60's cars from our area that were built 1970 to now, I can steer you to a website that has 500 plus pictures that meet that criteria.
It would be great if, more people would get on this thread that, would share their collection of old car pictures, taken in the 50's and 60's, from our area. Maybe, that "not yet found" candy colored Ford would show up.

  9. Thank you Curt...I'll be happy to take that website from you. Maybe you could PM me with it. I appreciate your generosity. Yes, I do wish guys would get on board with this Thread because I used to have stacks and stacks of photos I simply gave away. I'm sure most guys of that era that are still living, have simply moved on or no longer saw value in those old photos. I really get it...I am every bit as guilty. There were just so many great cars in the Upper Midwest that I remember, but have no proof they ever existed. Still, I'm thankful for the pics posted. I keep thinking that as long as these Threads get bumped now and then, somebody new will come along and contribute/ Thanks again Curt.....JP (Centurion9)

  21. the truck was built in Milwaukee, WI., 1950's-60's. The driver, passenger and other hangerons were members of a Milwaukee underground subculture that congregated around this truck and around other similar misshapen old vehicles. Their escapades were talked about in whispers, away from the ears of innocent children and adults. Many of these misguided individuals have scattered thruout the USA and still roam free. Age has benefited some of them with various disguises but, some of us know where they live and what they look like. Full documentation and photos are in the hands of the necessary authorities. If, you see any of them contact the nearest WGAS office.

This is what the passenger in that truck looks like today, I see his ugly mug every morning in the mirror while he brushes his teeth somewhere in Arizona

  23. Hello John,

Good that you contributed to this thread and that, you came in out of the cold. I visited the driver of that old Chev truck at his hideout in the Arizona mountains. There has been discussion of amnesty in Wisconsin for you and him. He made a clandestine trip back into Wisconsin, in October, he got back out without being detected.

I recognize this truck, sat outside at a body shop in 'Stallis for a few years some time ago. Always wanted to stop and inquire about it and check out all the mods but didn't want to waste anyone's time. Tell me it's still out there somewhere!

  26. Phillips,
wasn't there another 50's semi custom sitting next to it? about 15 years ago? I remember seeing them and always wanted to stop and ask, off National, white body shop?

  27. your right, the truck sat behind Walton Auto Body, So. 89 th St and W. National Ave, West Allis, Wi. for a number of years, rusting away and for sale. It did get sold and supposedly, it still exists somewhere in the Fort Atkinson to Janesville, Wi. area. I recall an early 50's Plymouth convertible sitting alongside the truck for a long time. I don't know if the Plymouth was customized. I may have missed whatever custom was in the back lot, also.
Ray Besasie was involved in the construction of the truck, to what extent, I don't know. John Stimac would have better info than I do. Maybe, he will give us more info.

Origionally started by Ray Bazasy of Excaliber fame, sold to Butch Brinza and finished by him, sat for many years, I bought it and refurbished it, and then sold it to Wayne Walton ,"Waltons auto body" on 89th and National Ave. where it sat outside next to a Plymouth convert, maybe 54. Wayne sold it to a guy that was in love with it, I'm sure its out there.
