    Bob,
Thank you on this cute spider (barchetta) made on FIAT 509A mechanics!
Probably that it is full re-creation of original model. Strange, but it was known as "Dolfino", in spite that it looks more as some big fish: mouth, skin and tail are not similar to delphin's!
Beside many other stylish Italian automobiles, it could be seen a few times on this short film:

    Some photos are attached, too!

...could that be the same/similar auto as on the following photos?
Then, it is Czechoslovakian Aero Minor III Le Mans: at least - they have the same wheels and looong nose! Maybe early VW-beetle hubs and wheels, maybe Porsche - but they should be too rare and too expensive?

    Ciao,
    Zoran

This is the Vanderbilt Cup Frayer-Miller , his grandson is a HAMB member. The other Vanderbilt Cup car is a multi engined Maxwell. Bob[IMG]

    Hello Rolf,
Thank you on nice photo of interesting baby-racers from period of “American splendid isolation” (a few years before USA entered in to the Great War)...
As most of baby-racers were powered by Harley-Davidson V-twin or Indian in-line-4 or V-twin, that was excellent marketing for two big rivals! Some of the cars were powered by Henderson in-line-4.
Sometimes baby-racers were sponsored by companies, sometimes as individual achievement of their dealers... Did motorcycle companies started races or almost popular races involved them – I am not sure... There were amateur constructions, too. Most of the cars looked as scalled-down replicas of piopualr GP racers... Some of the cars were used later in junior or midget races. Some were lighter and cheaper, used by teenagers...
Sometimes races were named “Junior Track Championship of Southern California” and sometimes “Junior Vanderbilt auto race” (as matinee or intermezzo for serious Vanderbilt Cup races)...

Short film about Vanderbilt Cup race in San Francisco 1915:

    Baby Vanderbilt racers:

As original baby-racers are quite rare now, and extremely expensive to buy and to reconstruct – maybe attached photos could help somebody as inspiration for DIY project of CycleKart (replica of vintage racers) or sport-cycle-car? Of course, Henderson and Indian engines should be today too expensive, the same as classic H-D, but some other motorcycle engine could be acceptable?

    Ciao,
    Zoran
