Dont know? Harlan built it when he cut up the car, That and the cost of changing it is why I would like to save it.
From what I was told he built this before 4 links were aftermarket. Dont know for sure?

I didnt check it when putting new axles in around 2005, ( but I know it was not this bad ) would had
fixed and braced then. I remember axles went in and out easy.

    Bob

Going to brace it after straightening,
I will say a prayer before starting to tweak it back

Norb make sure you don't tie that 12 bolt into a knot when you weld the brace on.
You may want to look into some thicker axle tubes.

    Made some changes. ;)

Lowered the set up. Changed chain location to other side of housing (for more leverage)

Sawed the pad end off an junk trailer jack, leaving about 2 inch of tube on it so it wont slide off the jack.

Then drilled the pad side for a 3 inch muffler clamp to strap it to the tube.;)

Got bigger log chain ( 1/2 inch link )

Soooo far got the pass side back about 1/8, got to start measuring the jack height v/s movement so I dont go too far.
    Trial and error process

Lots of pucker factor going on pumping the jack, :D

Aaaaaaand the mouse is out of the bag.[emoji15]

You should hold a telethon for that poor motor,Jeff....That little fella is sporting an iron lung!

Come on folks! Our operators are waiting!Your generous pledge of $5,$10,$20,or even $100 could help get Timmy the Wonder Mouse out of that iron lung, and into a long term facility for the horsepower-impaired!
Let's light up those phone lines, and give little Timmy the quality of life he so desperately needs!

  13. That's great!.. but.., uh.., the notches in the gasket rail, are for intake manifold clearance. Ergo, there on upside down! Guess I should've drawn instructions on them too.

I preferred the art on the side shown... You had quite a bit of misspelled words on the other side.

So I've been sitting here diligently manning the phones for the "Jeffy's Kids Telethon",and I've gotta say,I'm a little disappointed in you cheap pricks.
We've received a grand total of $3.27 in donations toward Little Timmy (The Mouse Motor)'s rehabilitation (all the death threats, and phone calls asking about what I'm wearing are not doing Little Timmy one bit of good you jerks).

Let's really look deep inside ourselves here fellas.....If you guys can afford to support hundreds of thousands of dope smoking losers on welfare,Syrian refugees, and prisoners on death row, surely you can spare a few dollars for a good cause like the "Jeffy's Kids" telethon....It's Christmas for goodness sake!

Norb, if you take the pressure off the bottle jacks see how far the tubes come or flex back? The way my friend Don explained to me is once metal is bent it has a memory, that you'll have to keep pushing the tube till you can let pressure off jacks & that cold rolled bar is in the middle like in pic with zero pressure from bottle jacks. But you want to go in baby steps & not bend tubes other way if you go too far... Don builds Mud Bog Drag Chassis here's a pic ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1450577058.765404.jpg

Yup, thats how I did it. (last pics are with no pressure from bottle jack)

Had to bend way over center , after trial and error found this worked best.o_O

Bent axle tube to opposite side of cold rolled bar , then slide back cold rolled bar and bend about 1 inch more.
The tube would spring back almost center. ;) Oh Ya dont forget to say a prayer first. :)

Now need to brace back and bottom to prevent tubing from springing back again under power.

Norb, looks like Tickety Boo was getting ready to give up the ghost on that rear end! You may want to check ladder bars out to see if metal is stretched & fatigued!?! You may want to make a new set & get all new hardware for safety's sake! As far as them tubes were bent it had to be wreaking havoc with everything back there! How many tenths will that fixed rear be worth? Looks like test & tune time in spring!

It was binding bad, hard to turn at the driveshaft ( thats why I pulled it apart)
Maybe that 1050 Quick Fuel was working, the last run at Great Lakes showed perfect air /fuel ratio
but the car was going slower.

Yea that's what I was thinking, it had to be binding bad...! Did you check if axles were tweaked too? Did you ever feel vibration or shimmying from back their?

The full spool and axle splines look good but now going to look real close for cracks in spool. the only thing stopping
more movement had to be axles.
No vibrations or anything, but 60 ft was down ( I thought the motor didnt like the new carb.)

I'm tired of just looking fast. I've been waiting a long time to do this engine.
