It looks to me that someone ruined a really nice 3 window body.

Speechless. Whoever buys this ****ed up mess ( hopefully for much less than asking $$ ) should hand over the money, load the body, then beat this guys *** into the ground.

Another one of those "the hard work is already done" scenarios, which means they really screwed the pooch and want someone that can fix their horrible ideas. Sometimes I think you need to go to school and buy a license before you are allowed to buy a 32 3 window. This is FUBAR in my opinion.

Some idiot was thinking "Ridler" and then quickly realized that it costs a million dollars to get into the Great 8.

  8. When the top is down, you're still going to have the frames on the doors and an ugly header on the windscreen surround. Surely a lift off Carson style top would have been nicer looking, cheaper, easier, lighter and would have had the advantage of not ruining a good body?

Looks like someone really screwed up a decent 3 window.

    It could be saved. HRP

BAD IDEA. That needs to be put back to original, and saved.

    What a ****ed up mess......
    Some one save it please!

  16. Its a shame but as 3 window bodies go it really isn't priced bad and I'll bet there is some wiggle room on the price. it wouldn't be any worse to try and save that one than some of the rust buckets that we as a group save on a regular basis.

If I had cash in hand I would give it a whirl and I really am not a big fan of the 3 window coupe. There is just too much there to leave it to someone who doesn't care and will continue to screw it up.

You see it all the time, even right here on the HAMB. "I'm going to chop/section/channel/butcher/whatever this thing so radically and it's gonna RULE!" Then you never see the thing again. Well guys, we just saw what really happens.

Sure would make some good patch panels for another coupe though. Or buy a whole back half from Brookville.

$12K for a legit '32 3W body that looks to be pretty much rust-free doesn't seem that bad, and I bet you could cut out all of that retractable ******** and have it tacked back together nice and square in 40 hours or less. They say it's got a ***le, that might be worth looking into for a guy who wants a Deuce 3W, and who knows what else is included with it.

It is admittedly super lame in it's current format though. Look where they broke the leading edge of the roof off?! And the door frames would stay on anyway.

What Alchemy said is really true though. Too many cars get sliced up into ******** because the builders insist they're going to blow everyone's minds, or do something that's "totally new and different". Only a tiny fraction of those cars ever get finished, and an even smaller fraction of the finished ones don't look stupid. This is a textbook example.

My Dad got caught up in building his F-100 like that about 25 years ago. There was a guy in town here who built a REALLY nice truck and was just an ***hole about it. My dad's truck had a ton of miles on it, and was ready for a redo. He decided he was going to show up the ***hole, so he tore his all apart, bought a ton of the latest "1990's" technology (ie D. Digital dash) and got it about 1/3 of the way done, and lost interest. Meanwhile, people kept asking when it was going to be done. he kept putting the date off. Finally about 8 years ago, he got back to working on it. He did finish it up, but it's nowhere near the "show truck" he had hoped for. It is a nice driver though, and other than the color looks much like it did BEFORE he re-did it, only with some cool "old school" 90's high tech stuff!
So i guess some of these "major projects" may eventually get finished!

I feel confident that somebody here knows the story on this. You don't build a retractable 3w in a vacuum.

Rich old guys build a '32 coupe AND roadster - just not the same car. I'd say this is 'new money.' :D

We got a dam good body man here in Nebraska. He saved 383dueces 3 window and it was a challenge. He's saved a couple of pieces of **** for me. I'm not sure even he could save this F----- up mess. What a shame!

Look at the inside of the cowl with sandblasted texture, and torch cuts. And the doors with the rusty spots where the hinges used to attach.

It's funny, if a guy pull a 32 3 window up from a creek and finds a solid roof from a desert wreck minus doors, boot and gl***, the prayers can go high enough for the guy saving another 32.
But when someone sells a butchered but complete body he is a evil bas*ard who destroyed a 3w.:oops::p

As long he stopped cutting it up before we to late. People on here has done more with way less! Hope it gets bought back from the dead!

    Sorry for the rant.

Its not that you couldn't restore it back to a decent car, its the fact that some clown took the quintessential, most desirable car and used his arguably low intelligence and limited skills to destroy it. Its like the old lady nun that painted over that masterpiece painting last summer and totally ruined it.
