Most of them are modern pics though. Im looking for older unseen pics and info on Jon Thorne's other cars too. I belive there was a ford of some sort, a Z-11, and possible a chevelle. Would be cool to hear some stories from those who were there at the time. According to my understanding the southeast was wide open back then. Thanks in advance. Jose

I don't know this car but I do remember a Packard powered dragster driven by the brother of tennis star, Pancho Gonzalez. Used to see it at the Pond. Chain driven blower if I recall...

I meant to ask if the above photo is one of the '63 Z-11 427's. Based on the lettering it may well be one of these rare cars. Guy down the street in Drayton Plains, MI had one.

    George, was it this one?

It was reportedly built by Lou Senter for his nephew, Leonard Harris, but after Harris' death at Lions, it disappeared...maybe Ralph Gonzales (Pancho's brother) ran it? Looks like a chain drive...(Picture from Don Ewald's WDIFL site)

I'm pretty sure this was origionally the late John Hagen's car. The lettering on the door and the long traction bars give it away. The car was a real Z11.

It might be, but I don't remember the body. Hell, I don't remember Monday so it's no big deal...

Eddie Sanzo in the Sanzo, Pellicane, Sedlicki A/GS Willys P/U just after getting the top chopped at the Pacers and before lettering (obviously) looks like Cecil County Dragway MD

10532465_949719421776685_2870801771026564580_n.jpg A little useless trivia. Met a couple at our local church one Sunday who approached me because I had a racing t-shirt on. She asked where we raced and had I ever heard of her dad Phil Hobbs? I'm like uh yeah of course. Ends up he was working at our local Lowes home store after retiring. Kenny Hirata looks awesome in this photo!
