Stieves Speed Shop Modified Production at E-town.jpg Folks,

The Stieve's Speed Shop 'vette above at E-town N.J. sometime in the early 1970's. Here's another shot on the program cover.

  8. Not in motion but..... Pork Zartmans chevy, later owned by Bruce Larson, and has been restored. I was doing a local car show last summer, and Bruce brought Mr. Clean. He wanted to line up beside my coupe and race right there in the parking lot. LOL. I said to Bruce, Do you think they would call the cops? And Bruce said, THEY WONT BE ABLE TO CATCH US! LOL. Part of the Cordova pit area, with tents, in the background.

That is Bob "Whitey" Jensen, from Beaverton,Or., a Woody car Kenney Goodell had built. By the time Kenney received it, had it painted and finished, Bob McCutcheon had a rear engined T/F car for him to drive. When Whitey bought it, Kenney had never made a pass in it, and it was brand new!

Thanks Marty for the info. We were there at S.I.R. that day (1977/78?) helping/cheering for Bill Phillips whose car is in the background of the Pic. We went over and were talking to Whitey while he was mixing the Nitro Load, nice friendly Racer to talk to. I remember him telling Murray and I that he had to get serious with his Driving, and Drive it the way he did in the Old Days! :)

I don't recall why I was at Bob's place, but I saw the car not long after he got it from Kenney. Also don't recall if it had an engine in it either. Nice piece for sure.
IIRC he was living in the Elmonica area off Baseline.

SUPERMAN because he came through this final round car destroying clutch explosion at Indy 1970 against Don Prudhomme.
    Watch the crash here:

They don't make 'em like that anymore!

He is still in the same place. His car had to be one of the last FED's that Woody built. 2012-07-23 155429.jpg
