Did any 55 or 56 Ford p***enger cars come with a rear sway bar?
    Like Station Wagons?
    Thanks

    Thanks Longroof.
I'm aware of the aftermarket ones from Dave, as I'm got his 1" front bar.
I was thinking of something smaller for the rear: maybe 9/16 or 5/8"

Wonder if anyone has ever modified a front to go on the rear?

I think if you do some research on the Hamb main board, you may find some threads where some van (?) rear bars from a salvage yard were adapted. I know I read something a year or two ago, and probably wouldn't have bothered reading if it wasn't related to mid-fifties Fords.

I think the rear ones are normally 7/8 or 3/4. Don't hold me to that as I'm recalling from memory. We all know how accurate that can be.

How about a rear sway bar from a 1995 Ford Ranger, it looks like it would be easy to adapt.

Yeah that Ranger one does look like it would be pretty easy to adapt but its hard to say.

I guess it depends on what size axle tubes you have or the U-bolts wont fit.

The front links should be easy to connect to the frame.

I never thought of something like that. I've only seen them attached to the frame with links to the suspension.
    Thanks

I think most front sway bars are attached to the frame, the majority of the rear bars that I've seen on cars with parallel leaf springs are attached to the axle housing.

I was experimenting with an Explorer sway bar. I mocked it up, and it looked like it would work. However, I have been too busy working on my Dodge C1B lately to work on the Ford.
