I don't have a score to settle with Scott...Had Scott brought his car last year I would have taken care of him before the Okie broke...

I am singularly focused on a gold 55... I am a little tired of him running me down... That is gonna change this summer

Yes, Hooker still sells headers for 55 - 57 Chevys. However, the ones that are on mine were discontinued about 10 years ago, or so. That is, Hooker Super Comps for a small block with stock motor mounts, Hooker #2110. Super Comps are available for side mount engines, but not for stock motor mounts.

Besides fenderwells, they only sell Competition Headers for cars with stock motor mounts. Since my exhaust was built around the #2110's, it was either modify the exhaust for different headers or find a new set that had been sitting on a shelf for over 10 years....Or in this case in a garage in Sheridan Michigan.

That 289 will be wore out after he tries to keep up with my Willys he will have to spin the guts out of thing to have enough power to stay close enough to even see my left rear blinker

No expectations aside from a good time.. This thing is built to look like it should be fast.. However the cheaters don't hook which keeps me from breaking stuff.. The 700R trans is made to handle the snot from the BBC and also give me the MPG on the freeway at 75-80mph as this thing proved completely reliable on the 2015 Bourbon Blitzkrieg Run to Louisville from Antioch, IL.. So--we will see how it goes..
Never been down the 1/4 before..

The little black car might have you scrambling to find bigger blower pulleys, and frantically fabricating an adaptor that will hold more carburetors after the first time I drive around that ol truck like it's tied to a tree...;)

Bigger is correct so I can slow the blower down to give you half a chance

Do tell...We're gonna be ready for just about anything short of a SEG "A" car or a front motor digger this year.

That was part of the deal....he can't go bigger than 327 cubes...Okie is already a little lighter than 'Gold Member'. So....I don't think that little 301 has that many more 9500rpm spins in it......guess you have to wait and see.

  19. Now there's a good MOPAR # ;) maybe next year we can get a block of numbers just the MOPAR guys - 318, 331, 354, 392, 413, 426, 440 ..... and that will probably be the entire field of us.

Ralph stated that a straight axle corvair ( front and rear) is much safer.

I'm in at #165, went as far as getting a real job to afford to knock the cobwebs off of the Falcon and put it back together. Can't wait!!!

I've been watching Meltdown videos on YouTube all day, rather than freezing my ass off in 10 degree weather, solely in an attempt to try and see what kind of E.T.s y'all are running. Looks to me like I'm going to have to shoot for the low 12's. Definitely would enjoy trying my luck against that Gold '55 with the 301.

There are lots of cars running low 14's,and high to mid 13's too....Whatever your et ends up being, you will find some good races:)
Just keep an eye out during time trials for a car with similar equipment and see what he runs.
Guys are really cool about telling you what kind of times their car runs so you can get matched up with somebody for some good races.
