    Bob,
As a pensioer with free time, I would like to be a "boy" in such workshop: bringing beer, cleanign dust, sorting tool, being "third-hand" soemtimes... In my youth, I had similar role working with my brother or my friends in back-yard worksops, even in basements, on some motorycels or cars that later became classic, but then were just old machines!

    Bob,
Wondeful engine, but from which Amilcar model is this small one beside it? It looks to me as flat-head?
Could be used as starter for Cadillac in Allard!

    Bob,
    Great web-site indeed!
Mayn interesting and less-known information about Josef Ganz, clever Jew who at good time run away from Germany and found new homeland in Swiss... There he invented "volkswagen" – the first time that name was used! The first variants were small and quite modest autos, mechanically similar to Hanomag Kommissbrot, but much better.

Later, he developed better versions – real automobiles, but he was Jew and wasn't so good friend as one not-so-good person (Ferdinand Porsche) was with really-bad person (Adolf Hilter). Therefore, Ferdinand got permition from Adolf to build VolksWagen autos and even got new factory for that. Of course, slave-workers were employed there...

Would Josef's "volkswagen" become better than Ferdinand's - who knows? Did Ferdinand stole some of the Josef's ideas - probably...

..a little more about Josef Ganz and race for "volkswagen" in Germany, where a dozen of serious auto-manufacturers was at scene (including Mercedes-Benz):

That is a big problem today,i have watched the movie maybe 30times but I'm lucky my boss(Wife is at home and make some officework)is not in the workshop and so i have still time to look it another 10times.End of February i will go to England to get my Frazer Nash rolling chassis and bring it to Switzerland and then I will start full power on the project.
In the Aero-Engined Vintage Racers thread i will then report about the progress of the work. image.jpeg image.jpeg

    Hello,
Somewhere was written that it is strange how many persons presented here in the same time like gargantuan automobiles (the best if aero-engined) and quite opposite – cycle-cars! For monsters: the bigger engine the better, for cycle-car – the small is cute (and enough)! But small aero-engines in light autos – nice too (Chatter Lea and Grafton)

That was wonderful film! Nice to watch it a few times, indeed! For me: nice pensioner evening was good end of day watching it! Only, it confused me a little text at one scene (attached scanned photo): “Engine from 1908 Tiger Moth”??? Could there be any Tiger Moth from that year and especially with 2 cylinder V-twin engine? Maybe the year is 1938 and engine made of two cylinders from Tiger Moth in-line-four engine? Or something quite different (probably)!

However, the most important is that nice company filmed in beautiful surrounding enjoy in ride of their monsters, and with them we too!

    Zoran
(still changing gears and cutting corners, making brrrrmmmm!)
