I'm having issues deciding on my lower front shock mount. I've consider many places and am currently leaning towards drilling a hole to mount a shock stud like this.

I just don't see this very much and am wondering if there is a reason?

That should work, your upper shock mount will be long and your shock quite angular therefore less effective.

Can you move it closer in? Something to ponder.

Just weld a bolt there, then use a spacer, washer.

as simple as it sounds it just been difficult to decide. I really like behind the I beam look, and my headlight mount is going to be fairly low. I plan to lean the upper shock tower out alittle bit to minimize the shock angle.
picture shows what i'm thinking except behind axle.

Sounds good to me. Take a look at a stock 48 ford for how they did it. It's pretty much what you've got right there though

Just don't mount the shock upside down like the picture.

I did it on my Chevy axle. I don't see any issues with it, especially since guys drill axles all the time. Of course, I haven't driven mine yet, so take my advice sparingly.

I'm a hack, but you can check my build thread for what I did. I thought my ideas were fantastic, but don't I always.
