Here's picture from the show showing the hood. The louvers turned out beautifully but I kind of messed up the sheet metal a little in the prep process. I'm going to pull the hood back off, get it media blasted, body worked and repainted the Hot Rod Black of the rest of the car. Then I think it'll be time for some flames! showfront.jpg

  11. One of the most gorgeous 40 coupes on the HAMB, originally built by Roadstar. He meticulously added the convertible/woody windshield surround and trim. The interior is equally bitchin'! Miss his posts.

Lost this thread during the hassle on HAMB when the post subscription notification feature failed. Hoping this post will get me back on the list.

Here's a couple pictures of my friend's '40 Coupe! Jack did a great job on his '40! We've had alot of fun over the years together. The Dark red picture is of the car when he got it. The black is what he's done to it. Awesome Job Jack!!

That ranks right up there in '40 Ford lore like the dash in Gene Sonnen's coupe that Dave Bell did!

But if your '40 isn't flamed yet, just be sure the Converse sneakers have them! :)

This little beauty sold for $93,500 last night at BJ Scottsdale. Beautiful coupe with an OT drive train. Of course they went to commercial while they sold it......

I've loved '40 Fords since I was a kid, no changing that now! This picture is the first finished Street Rod I bought. We enjoyed this for 8 years and I got the bug to move on. Friends told me not to sell it but I didn't think I could afford to keep this car. It was a mistake to sell it. Within the past few years it looked near the same, except it had red wheels and white wall tires and it was on ebay. I had tried to buy it back from Craig, but we couldn't make a deal. We did many cruises with this car, Rod & Custom Americruise several years in the '90's, as well as Back to The Fifties, Street Rod Nationals ( was in Louisville, Ky, Columbus, Ohio, & Syracuse, NY, & Nats North in Kalamazoo. We did some serious driving besides working full time.

  28. I'm going to pick your brain since this is a 40 Ford thread. I am in the process of ordering new parts since my crash last summer and I need a new rear bumper. I would like to run the sedan delivery bumper since it has less of a curve than the coupe bumper. I have heard that you need to run a set of 37 Ford bumper brackets to facilitate this swap. Any of you guys have any first hand knowledge of this? Thanks. - Andy

  29. Not personally familiar with a '40 Sedan Delivery bumper, but I do know that the '37 bumper doesn't have near the bow in it as a '40 does. That would make what you have heard a reasonable proposition.
