I took 7" out of my top and thought it was a bit low for safe driving, although I have also channeled the body 4". What I did was take out the T header board above the windscreen and replaced it with a A Model Closed cab pickup one so I gained 2 or 3 " of windscreen height. Don't think I'll be able to see traffic lights still, but have a much bigger view of the world.
Yeah I'm replacing my header with 1"X1" tubing. To gain a bigger window. Mines not channeled and I'm rather short. After sitting in it feel really good about 8". Have a pic of yours?
I can't believe I hadn't notice this build thread before today. I like your ideas and where it seems to be headed. I also noticed something else. Your 9" Ford rear end isn't centered and the pumpkin isn't as radically offset as I thought they were. See, I recently came by a 9", but was going to sell it to finance a 9" with a centered pumpkin. Now, I'm thinking I'll keep what I have. Thanks for posting!
Subscribed I'm fixing to start a T mounted on an A frame. Good information here about suspension Bobby
I was concerned about the offset pumpkin too. But it's really not that bad. Plus I'm doing my best to stay on budget, and this is what I had. Ha. Thanks for the compliments!
Those lights you are thinking of using are semi truck road light (fog lights ) I don't believe they hav high beams .love the build , very cool build .
Cool build! One nit-pick: Can you lower the grille shell/radiator (or section it) so its top is no higher than the cowl? Everything else looks terrific.
Thanks. Check the later pics. I changed to a chopped radiator and it is very very close to same height. Just no side pic shots since.
Sodakmini, I have been doing almost the exact same build and should be done this spring. I agree with others about your radius rods being lower, mine are about 4 inches below the frame rails. If I can find pic's I will post some.
Most farm equipment dealers will have something similar in stock. Usually referred to as a sediment bowl or water trap. Make sure you find one with the right size inlet and outlet though as most have pretty small fittings on them.
Except for the rear suspension I really like what I see. I love a good thrift build, and will be follow you from a distance and chearing you on. Saginaw 3 speed, will that be colum or floor shifter? Have you looked in the front end caster, with the split bones mounted to the frame, and not below it. Maybe someone on here knows but can you run split rear bones, in a truck/ladder bare set up? More like they connect to the top and bottom of the axle, to prevent it from rolling front to back, and changing pinion angle at launch or letting of at speed.
I have been looking fo a while. All the new stuff has plastic bowls. I haven't found anything with a glass under hung bowl. That caddy fuel filter is only available from the reproducers. Anyone know a part number for a similar filter. Napa, tractor supply etc. All I want is an under hung glass bowl and mounting holes on the filter body.

Will be a floor shift. I'm not done with rear suspension. Going to run a 3rd look to prevent the rear end rolling back. Should work fine. Thanks!
Sorry mate, just saw your question. Here goes my first attempt at a pic. Marked for the chop 7" Chopped Now
just put the seat[narrowed van rear seat 8'' hi] in my 27 T-v8 coupe hiboy on A frame, choped 5'' w/no top bows and i only have about 1 1/2'' head clearance, be carful you don't have to ride hunched over, not fun for long.
Put in a mini-spool and fabbed up a tranny xmember. Decided to go with a th350 with a full manual shift body.
