I'm pretty excited about the car. I will look into it a little more. He is not advertising it at all. I think he might sell it this spring if I don't buy it.

Whats' the problem with the type of frame it is? Is it function or is it looks?

Define a traditional hot rod. I'm sure this frame will work under a nice street rod but it's not what the HAMB is about, do a search and check some of the great model 40 builds on here.

kcode, tell us about yourself. What are your attitudes? Mechanical abilities? Bucket full of cash? What do you like to do & how do you drive? Do you jump in the Mustang, push the high winding small block, bang the gears and carve up the back roads in our beautiful state? Build the hi-tech frame. Want to go to Pleasanton? The disc brakes will come in handy going down the long mountain passes on I5. Put air in it while your at it and be cool and comfortable when you arrive.

Maybe you just want to drive across town for a burger & brew or maybe the longest trip will be to Puyallup and you believe technology stopped in 1956. Then build a traditional frame. I'm not knocking a traditional setup, lots of guys put tons of miles on them, but I'm a closet street rodder around here. When I hang out with my buddies with the shiny cars I'm the rat rodder. I like them all, but if I got a good deal on that frame I would use it.

As many have already said the body is what really matters -- if it is a solid example buy it.

Both my Mustang Hipo and my 67 Camaro SS convertible are completely numbers matching original cars. I will leave them that way. I like all kinds of cars done all different ways. My wife wants a car we can drive without worries. Something to fly down the highway to Arizona if we want. I honestly like more of a hotrod look, but I'm also OK with what she wants. I think this build could look great either way. I like the picture below for something like what she wants.

It's a no brainer for me...If the body is solid go for it. This is exactly how I got my '34 3w. It was an unfinished street rod with a 2" chop, a sister frame to this one, and a ZZ4 crate motor. My then 9 year old son spotted it pulling into a swap meet 2 years ago, sitting on a roll back waiting to get into the show. My buddy thought I was crazy, but I scrapped up all that I had & bought it on the spot, sold off all of the street rod stuff and a year later I had less than 8,000 in a PERFECT rust free 3w body, windshield, title, & rechromed original grille.
I know that unmolested cars & barn finds are still out there. I myself have found a few...but they are the exception rather than the norm. I really feel that this is the way to get into these higher dollar cars in an affordable manner. 32-34 Fords are expensive for sure...but when you can find situations like this, if you have the patience you can end up with a desirable car for not much money....
    My 2 cents anyway...

I had been looking at another car, but I think I am going to try an purchase the 33 within the nest month. I have been in contact with the owner and they know I want it. I may try to pick it up sooner. I will update in a week or so!

I was going to give you heck on the other thread, I thought we had this all hashed out 10 months ago. And here it is. Build the car like your wife wants, you won't be sorry.

I spoke with the owner a few hours ago and said I would buy the car. It will be a few weeks before he can get everything dug out. I really wanted a three window, but I'm happy with this car.

As for building it the way the wife would want it.........she would have a nice soft ride that drives like a new car lol. I am thinking of parting it out and using the old frame. I can sell the extra grill too. Is there a reason NOT to use the 347 stroker and Tremec 5 speed?
