I'm starting a re-built of an old build. I've got a '48 Chevy 3100 that was probably first built back in the '80,s. It has a GM front clip with a 350, Turbo 350 trans and 10 bolt rear. Some research leaves me to believe the clip came out of a '68 Camaro. The 350 checks out to be an early to mid '80,s GM crate engine. It appears they used a donor car and used as much of it as possible i.e. Interior, rear end, etc. One of the odd ball items is the exhaust manifolds that appear to have come off an '80,s engine.

So, I'm getting started on some engine work first and want to put headers on it. I would love to avoid the trial and error bit! Any one have a recommendation on what brand and style headers will fit this Camaro clip 3100 body truck?

Assuming the engine was mounted to the clips original mounts then Camaro headers should still fit. If the motor was moved then it's anyone's guess but most likely block huggers would fit.

JMO, but unless you are planning on racing and a lot of high RPM driving, I would go with 2 1/2" Ram Horns....assuming they will fit.
A lot cleaner, less hassle, and close to the same performance...

I had a GM clipped F1 with a 327 and the ram horns. Fitted easily, looked good, and performed well too.

Thanks for the reply. Your're probably right about the Camero headers just though I would ask in case someone has had the same set up with one of theses trucks and ran into any hiccups. Think goodness there's a lot of room under the hood of these trucks!

Great idea. I hadn't really thought about the Ram Horns. I have always liked the way they look on older vehicles. Should be plenty of room for them.
