Hot Rods Going to the Lone Star Round Up

I'll be at the LSR this year with Ben Bright and Flop.

Taking the 40. First time, really looking forward to it. Any tips?

I sure WISH I was going but this will be my California Dreaming year... driving to the LA Roadster Show.
If I make that one, the Lone Star Round up will be shorter... won't it?!?
Maybe next year. If they could get to Baltimore, I ought to be able to get down there from VA.
Might have to make a NEW windshield banner for NEXT year!!

If you dont have a room already good luck. Usually stay at extended stay on 1st st. Rate hikes everywhere are unreal.

 

I will of course be rolling in from Dallas with MR. FORD and possibly others..

Going to do my best to make it out this year...

You want tips on ROUNDUP.... Expect craptastic traffic on roads in and out of there, and expect bad traffic in most parts of town also. If you get to show early and leave early its not as bad, same with getting there very late and leaving late.. Either way expect traffic so make sure your cooling system is up for the job....... The cruise on Congress is impeded by cop cars every intersection, stop and go traffic there also... But it is a great place to see and be seen, along with heading out to Top Notch burger up on the north of Austin, that is always a cool hangout for sure also.
Last year it took over an hour to travel 3-5 miles. Other good tip is to find someone who has done it a few times and has some tips and tricks. Austin is a large city, there is so many different things to do there.

Booked my hotel at sleep inn and suites on the north side. About a 20 minute trip too the fair grounds . Its always the highlight of my year, not to get this thread side tracked but the Bayou Roundup is also a must to attend

Yes. It will be finished in a couple weeks. Just fit and finish work , these days.

Will be there with the usual suspects from the Hilton Hot Rods/Ross Racing Engines posse, making the trip down from OH, VA and WV in a herd of Angry Model A's.

 

I wish I could make it, but I have way too many other things going on this year. I'll be waiting for coverage though.

 

Me and the gents will be sailing over in the USS Impala.... One year they'll have their cars road ready and I will be able to bring my coupe! That was aimed at you HrRdLcn!!!! Get your car done freaking hitchhiker!

Ditto! Kontinentals have permanently screwed my vacation days up.... And I couldn't be happier about it. Really love the way they planned these two events six months apart.
