    Did you flip the whole thing around or just cut the middle part out and flip that and re weld it in? I've seen guys do both that's why I ask

  2. Flipped the firewall around, then cut the bead out (the middle part) and flipped it back around and welded it back in

    Great build kid.... you're doing an awesome job, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous... I've always wanted to build a 5 window Model A...

    Looks great!! I'm working on a 31' a as well only I'm going 58' model 283 power pack also sporting 3 twos! I love those Y blocks congrats on finding one. That's bitchin'

  11. Toe board is in, now time to build the transmission tunnel. Toe board is made out of 14ga steel.

    I've made the same modification in a T model but it wasn't easy because the shape was totally different of a A model

    Looks like your toe board is using up a lot of real estate with the slanted portion making it all the way to the door opening. Your feet and legs will appreciate every square inch you can give them....I'd try to contour this area of the floor as much as possible to gain room.....even kicking the bottom of the firewall out a little bit to make room.

    You should try to mock up your seating position as closely as you possibly can to see if that toe board is at the proper angle for your feet.
    The angle of my stock model T footboard was way off because of sitting lower in the body than you do on a stock T seat.
    To have a comfortable foot - ankle angle to the toe board I was able to move the bottom of the toe board towards the firewall almost 4" ahead of the stock location.
    This made it very comfortable and added a lot of extra foot room.
    You might be able to do the same it makes a big difference in an otherwise crowded car.

    Yeah I was looking at it and noticed it looked both different and the same as mine because I just left mine as it was which wasn't flipped.

  19. There's actually tons of room! We took the package tray out so the seat sits all the way back.

  21. Formed the transmission tunnel around the transmission to take up as little room as possible. Made it out of 14ga steel. Made it so it bolts in so we can access the transmission easily. I think I drilled and tapped around 58 holes for this piece.

    Jake, I was looking at your thread, and someone has replaced your original firewall with a flat one, so it would look quite a bit different than this one. Nice job saving a r&% rod, by the way.

  27. Fabricated a trim ring around the steering shaft to pretty up the hole in the firewall. I made a drilled and tapped back piece for the ring that welds on the firewall to make it look like its part of the bead.
