Rat Sass looks good. As to the silver 61 I really like the look of the car and the stance of course. Wish I knew which tires he has on the rear. I believe that is going to auction. I thought I saw one of these recent builds out of Illinois (I thought Nickey related) was going up for auction but cannot remember if it was Mecum or BJ. Nice car but would really like to see it on a drag strip.
Check out this one that Borgeson sells. Part #806010 Little bulky, but could be trimmed/shaped to look more delicate.
Thanks Scott! Thought they looked a bit shorter than what is generally available today...should hook in a mudhole! Chassis is really beginning to take shape. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely priceless elgringo71! Thank you for digging this up & posting! Sadly Ernie Dutre passed away a couple years ago & I never got the chance to talk to him, but I really would have loved to. I've talked to several people that knew both Ernie and Fred Cattaneo, but can't quite make the connection between the two cars. Maybe someday. Thanks again amigo! Ironically, the guy that owned my car in Oklahoma said that Cookie Cook (of Stone, Woods & Cook fame) was a personal friend & had worked on my car several times & the SWC car is on the cover of that mag!
Brut4- that is Bert Brown's 61 which we have discussed on these threads a few times. Cool winning drag car that survived in pretty much the condition it raced, which is somewhat rare today. This car and Mazmanian's 61 were made back to back-one number apart.
Jim,Bert may have sold it by now.If you google it , the car was for sale on Hemmings website June,or July 2015. 185,000.00
Rod You are probably correct-maybe I will have to call it the Grassman Nicholson Wade 61 from now on. Thanks for the heads up.
