Hey my friends, I want you all to know that Terry Ahern alias "Stickshiftkustoms" ripped me off for $1,000.00. I sent him a USPS money order for $1,000.00 on Dec. 2nd for a 1929 sport coupe body ("coupster") and he has failed to ship the body as promised or to return my dough. Lots of B.S. is all I got from him. He is in Kentucky and the body is in Cincinnati Ohio. He works at Hearns Homes. Beware of this guy. If anybody knows him or has any insight into this crook, let me know. jkflathead.

We don't allow threads like this, but I'm letting this one ride for a bit as I have worked with JK on the issue prior. Essentially, Terry Ahern has been leading us on for a couple of weeks now. Anyone know him?

It seems like a very good idea to warn us about ripoffs. Why dont you allow it?

Bad for the community and usually never really solve anything.

It seems like lots of fellas have gotten burned by this guy lately. Damned sorry to hear it.

What part of Cincinnati? I have family there. I may be able to get my uncle to pick the body up for you and organize with a shipper.

It's been mentioned here many times, get a member who lives in the area to check out the car or parts. Yes the person in question is a member, but he is a new one with no history to speak of. A respected or long time member could have delivered the $$$ and picked up the body at the same time. I hope this works out for the OP.

If you used usps money order Nad he hasn't delivered, then this is now mail fraud which is federal offense. I would contact the post office. They don't take this shit lightly.

  13. @117harv pretty good advice. I had opportunity to help an Italian HAMBer out a couple of weeks ago. Everything was on the up and up but things could have been way off and it just gave everyone piece of mind.

Thanks for all the advice. Sorry, I did not know that I was not supposed to post this kind of thing here. Ryan has been very supportive in this whole thing. I did file an official claim form with the USPS Inspection office on line a couple of weeks ago. I have heard nothing from them. All I have is a post office box. He says that he has now moved to Kentucky and that the body has been taken to the shipper. Again I didn't mean to break the rules by posting this here, just thought that you all would like to know that this guy, "Stickshiftkustoms" is a real problem. jk

  18. yup, same guy: "Gone Wrong" that was scamming a year ago, Ryan banned him and he is back under a different name, must be a target rich environment for him.

call the postal inspectors office and ask for a inquiry to see what has been done so far , you have to go to a major city post office instead of a local unit , try the one in Albany, Or Buffalo as thye often have a actual police unit .

Thanks 31 Vicky, yep same guy same bull shit! If this guys integrity was dynamite he couldn't blow his nose! I dealt with him from Aussie, the only way I received my parts were due to the efforts of Ben D, intrepid Jedi transporter! Stay away from Terry Ahern!

Retribution can be a fun thing, when one of us old timers that have been screwed for 50 years gets a chance to even the score it can be a wonderful thing.
