    Hello DOUG and sorry!
So, I now know why it is "D" for, but why it is "nobo" for?

Forget old man for ignorance - it is not arrogance!

Do you have any suggestions where I should look for more images of this car? I am particularly interested in his quarter elliptical setup.

upload_2016-2-16_23-50-42.png Look at both photos of this car, is there a right and wrong way to mount DUNLOP tires? Does the tire have any traction gains if it is facing one way or the other? Bob

Check out images of Frazer-Nash cars and GNs.We have posted quite a few showing just the suspension details on this thread.Might take a minute or 2 to sort through them.

    Hello,
I think that mechanics simply didn't care how tyres are oriented: there is not any system in that - front/rear or left/right wheels have all their own "mind"? Probably that on macadam roads of that period in Central Europe – that isn't of some importance?

P.S.: Couldn't find anything about that automobile or any other automobile entering such events!

A small speedster powered by a continental 4 cylinder. The plan so far is quarter elliptical front axle similar to the GN/JAP Martyr Instone Special (page 180, Post 5391). But I like the way this fellow has his friction dampers over his axle instead of as a lower locating member. Once I get a little further along with the mockup stage I am planning on starting a build thread.

On the Helica, is that a single centered shock absorber? Kinda looks like some kind of IRS but I can't figure out how that works. Anybody knows?

I never looked that close before. It looks like it could be an affair like a motorcycle front spring - shock assembly.I like the view from the front.Kinda reveals that thought a little more clearly. It looks pretty delicate once you start to study it more thoroughly.

I can only pass on the information that was given with the image. In my own defense,I'll leave an image without description before I'll make something up...if that is what you're proposing.Just because YOU can't find anything ,does not discount the information that was given.

The photo came from https://audiovis.nac.gov.pl/zespol/1:11919/, which shows a few other cars at the event.

Here is a pic of the front of the Schasche showing the front and rear of the spring. It didn't have any shocks.

    Hello Bob,
And sorry that I upset you so much to write angry and cynical respond! I do not know why, but probably language barrier – my poor and simple English?

Story is simple: you post quite interesting photos with information that you had, as Doug wrote in excellent and short way:

Banjeaux Bob, you have NEVER lead us astray. You've found pictures that make my day. Because of you I have seen things I never would have otherwise. THANK you.

But as I belong to group of members that want to see something further and “behind the hill”, I like to search more about anything interesting, posted here. Beside, there were questions about DUNLOP tyres orientation and rear suspension... As I couldn't find anything precise, I simply wrote that... Happily, SR100 found web-site with more photos and information – but without more facts about automobile in this case. Front suspension was similar to GN or Frazer-Nesh, but rear not so much...

For my curiosity and my pleasure, I will search a little more about motorisation of Central and East European scene between World Wars (and automobile in question), but for myself only. I promise that I shall not ever more respond at any of your posting! Fair enough? (but I will follow them with joy and pleasure!)

    Regards,
    Zoran
