The photo came from https://audiovis.nac.gov.pl/zespol/1:11919/, which shows a few other cars at the event.

Banjeaux Bob, you have NEVER lead us astray. You've found pictures that make my day. Because of you I have seen things I never would have otherwise. THANK you.

Here is a pic of the front of the Schasche showing the front and rear of the spring. It didn't have any shocks.

    Hello Bob,
And sorry that I upset you so much to write angry and cynical respond! I do not know why, but probably language barrier – my poor and simple English?

Story is simple: you post quite interesting photos with information that you had, as Doug wrote in excellent and short way:

Banjeaux Bob, you have NEVER lead us astray. You've found pictures that make my day. Because of you I have seen things I never would have otherwise. THANK you.

But as I belong to group of members that want to see something further and “behind the hill”, I like to search more about anything interesting, posted here. Beside, there were questions about DUNLOP tyres orientation and rear suspension... As I couldn't find anything precise, I simply wrote that... Happily, SR100 found web-site with more photos and information – but without more facts about automobile in this case. Front suspension was similar to GN or Frazer-Nesh, but rear not so much...

For my curiosity and my pleasure, I will search a little more about motorisation of Central and East European scene between World Wars (and automobile in question), but for myself only. I promise that I shall not ever more respond at any of your posting! Fair enough? (but I will follow them with joy and pleasure!)

    Regards,
    Zoran

    Hello Chris,
As I know, all Helica models, from 1913 up early twenties - had quite strange and probably dangerous rear-wheel steering! Maybe pulling power of aircraft style engine and propeller (elise) stabilized it at straights and curves? The first variants have single-wheel steering and suspension as air-planes, and later suspension/steering similar to Bedellia? That means central-pivot steering and movement of axle up-down on big vertical spring (stretching?) - probably without hydraulic chock-absorber. As I could see, there is variant with single-piece axle (as Bedelia) and with two-part axle with swinging parts? Similar suspension was use on pioneer air-planes, as Antoinette...

Nothing strange, Marcel Leyat designer and constructor of Helica was pioneer aviator! All variants of Helica (l'hélice = propeller or screw for aviation or baoting) were designed and constructed as light air-planes, in layout and details!

Front suspension was with a pair of longitudinal cantilevered leaf-springs, usually used at rear – but, Marcel made everything opposite!

    Zoran

One of my favorite FN.s is the Owlet. Makes you smile just watching it drifting around the bends passing Bentley's and Bugatti's.

Thankss Bob, if you do a google search on the image it shows up as an Isetta. Kind of neat looking. I will check on the Heinkel deal.

    Hello Rusty,
You could be right - in spite that they are similar, Isetta and Heinkel had some differences - in this case important is position and shape of headlights!

Beside that, it seems that Heinkel had space for children or more baggage behind front bench, then bigger all of the glass surfaces, finally three-wheels and monocoque chassis/body unit...

    Zoran
P.S.: There was four-wheel, four-seat version - could be base for shown furgonette?
