Well I thought the same thing initially. But I figured it was the burnout and the throttle stop would still be in place before being removed before the run. Good observation though. I was wondering if anyone would catch it.

 

Cool show gentlemen! I always love the FAS.....whatever happened to it getting a sticky every week? Change of mods?

Steve, that is a wicked concept using a BelAir fordor hardtop! Those must be really rare, too, I don't recall seeing one in forever.

 

Painted this Austin 7 survivor Sunday. Hard to paint with crowds around it constantly (All British Day- a big show). Young Matthew drives around with a couple of Meteors for company. The TQ speedcar in my first post (the black & white car) has the same front axle setup as this. The TQ's came on in the fifties and used mainly hopped British motorcycle engines, and a lot of them used Austin 7 suspension & gearbox ( The red car in post 1 has Holden front end components). Truly mad racing.

 

Thanks Tom. Yes, I chopped it up just for FAS. The car is actually an immaculate Colonial Cream stock Belair- I'll show it next week. There are at least 4 '57 4D h/t's here ( one a long-time street/race job) and a '56, possibly more. Lotsa sano tri 5's in Adelaide.
