Did a little searching on this - Aerovias Sud Americana was a Florida-based freight outfit that served Central America flying Curtiss C-46s and other large piston-powered aircraft. On the propspistonsandoldairliners site I found some more images and fixed 'em up a bit:

Uh oh. Glad I wasn't the owner of that Caddy... must have been even more fun backing it out.

Yes, I missed that turn several times. Be careful, the window isn't open all the time, either. Gary

Yes, it's the Eastland Shopping Center in West Covina. That Clifton's location opened in '58.

Yeah, I understand. I didn't mean your comment was serious. I guess it is just the history teacher in me coming out. Sorry.

Isn't that where Charlie Browns steakhouse is.
Not in the shopping center, right off the freeway IIRC.

…. Fred having put up with that tooth ache for quite sometime now and what with the door slamming method having failed multiple times, decided to resort to, as some would say " a more drastic measure" to find some quick relief ! Unfortunately, the Stude stalled just as his wife had begun to backup, causing Fred to pull his neck out of place. The tooth however, still did not budge. :')

I grew up in Diamond Bar and as soon as I saw that corrugated May Co facade and those parking lot signs it all came back to me. Would have been mid to late 60's. Wow, completely forgot about that place.

Thanks Mr Obvious (DDDenny) for your answer - you're quite right, if I had put my glasses on, I would have been able to see the sign saying Pikes Peak, but I still would never have guessed there would actually be a jet plane sitting up there.
I assume it was carted up there on a trailer for some reason (USAF Public relations, I'm sure) but I'm intrigued why they thought that was the best possible thing to do. I'm not suggesting they were wrong - just surprising.
    Thanks for helping clarify. Cheers.

Tommyd, this is just an awesome photo. The young guy is just so 'matter-of-fact' about pulling a huge wheelie in his billie-cart - he's already got a handful of steering correction ready for when she comes down, eyes focussed directly at the camera and you know he is confident the spring front axle will save him from a hard landing.
    I'll bet he's a pro-drag racer now.

I'll bet this was seen as progress in the day............... and has possibly now been reinstalled 50 years later at huge expense as the arguments for buses over trams have been re-thunk.
I'm not suggesting either is right, just interesting to see infrastructure such as this ripped out of the ground.

Corner of Queen and Flinders Streets in Melbourne - late 60's or early 70's I'd say.
