hey guys, figured Id try this again, been awhile since I posted and have alittle more info.. Trying to track down pictures at the very least, or even one of my dads cars.this would be the late 60s, early to mid 70s when he ran. He basically ran 2 Falcons. the 64 white sedan delivery and a 65 falcon sedan 2 dr post also white. The 64 was C/MP, though may have changed to H/MP before he wrecked it, and the 65 was H/MP. he started out with a 289 in the 64 then switched over to a 300 six cylinder, which is what he mostly won with. he had a shit load of trophies but they were broken or tossed out over the years, but he did have a lot of first places in his class. I think I still have one of the old Atco Wheel Pamphlets with his name and best time of 11.02 in it He ended up building a 70 maverick ,had it painted orange and roll cage set up because he was going to get pretty serious , but instead his father convinced him to give it up ,so he never ran that. I believe he sold that to someone local, that was part of Wills bus, here in Hainesport/Mt Laurel area. He raced around New Jersey, (lived in Hainesport). Tracks he ran at were Atco Dragway, Pleasantville, Cecil Dragway, York Dragway, Strato Rods( Maquire Airforce base),and Great Meadows. He also did Flemington and a few other track but not to often. Any help would be great!
There was a great story about the owner and the car sometime ago in one of the Corvette magazines. Brought tears to my eyes. So damn sad.
There were more, Billy Lagana ran the "Locomotion" 63 Chevy Z-11 409 in A/FX and M/P. And I think the oldest Lou Lagana ran a gasser. Pat
Lets give this one a bump with a classic east coast M/P car. It was very successful and often I used to stop what I was doing on my own car to watch it run . Scotto & Blevins 55 Nomad M/P now restored
jivin jer beat me getting this into drag cars in motion thread. So we need one here too. Fred Egloff M/P
It does, but the position of the announcer tower suggests that the photo was taken from the spectator side rather than from the pits' side? But I am not relying on my aged memory from back then.
In the early years of Modified when running a 2 seater T Bird or say a Corvette, what was the difference between say an example here of a B/MP and a B/MSp? I recall seeing some in the Modified Sport Class and now I'm more confused.
