We can't forget the story of Mike Sullivan's famous altered. His website is here a good read. http://mikesullivanracing.com/history.html You say you want some FIRE different paint Nice view of the cockpit
And thanks to Dean for reminding me about the forerunner of altereds the 554 coupe. The Mooneyham & Sharp 554 hemi fuel Coupe. The last day raced in California gene has sold the coupe to Emmit White. Years later it was restored and became an instant hit on the nostalgia racing circuit. It was bought by Jerry Moreland and then donated to the Garlits Museum
I'm finding that out right now . I knew from what my parents told me that it was a popular situation in SO Cal but i really didn't know it reached beyond that and few magazines and some pictures on the Internet but I'm finding that out now . Sent from my SM-G900P using H.A.M.B. mobile app

Ed Kohler’s huge holeshot was wasted by a burned piston, giving Ron Mandella both the class trophy and a free pass into Super Eliminator—which Mandella also won for Shores & Hess, overtaking Bob Pickett’s blown Corvette with a 9.56 at 144.60. Though local Anglias were already running Division Seven points meets as Super Gassers on a “test” basis, HRM’s rules honored NHRA’s nationwide wheelbase minimum of 92 inches.
