48 Dodge COE p***enger side Inner Fender. I've posted elsewhere but thought I'd try here. This part is the only thing keeping me from moving forward on the build, I think too hard for my skills to fabricate. Sure a lot of Ford/Chev stuff.

Looks like the thread has been resurrected. Looking for a good pair of steps for a C600. 1953-56 are the same.

That's the only item holding me up at present.

    Thanks, Mark.

I have a pair of Ford 1 ton dually front hubs and rotors off a newer truck, maybe 90's up? Honestly don't know for sure. I got them at a sale thinking I would use them on my Dodge at the time, have a different plan there and these are getting kicked around. If you think you might want them or want pics and or measurements let me know. They would be cheap if not free to a good home.

I have a excellent front bumper, $100.00 plus the ride..

  9. I know that any fender would be spend, but having a fender made from scratch would cost way more than I could spend. Yea, I'd be happy with anything I could get, except fibergl***....
Up-Date, on 9/11/16, last Sunday I found a real good set of 1940/46 Chevy truck rear fenders.
After 3 years of searching the hole US, I found a real good pair last weekend, "local" at our annual old car swap-meet in Grants P***, OR. Crazy, LOL

Alyn charges by material/labor, and he is quick, I know it would cost less than a lot of body work done at a body shop. Do you have a picture of the fender you want or the opposite side?

I'll wager a junkyard fender will easily be 150-200 or more. My FG repops were $500 each. Short of finding one here on the HAMB, I suspect it will not be an inexpensive part. I'd be glad to look when I visit a local "old iron" JY in the next few weeks, but getting it from coast to coast won' t be cheap either. Do you have JYs like that locally? I know many have suc***bed to environmental pressure and high s**** prices in recent years.

  14. Saw the post about fabricating fenders, any chance fabrication of a 56 COE Hood is an option.

    56Tim, where are you located?

  16. Contact Marcels metal fab in Corona Cal. There prices are reasonable and can build anything you want. They do Rick Dore cars, Foose and did most of Boyds sheetmetal.
I only have a personal cell for Luc Delay ( Marcels son) But if you need a number I will text him and get a business number for you.

  20. Thanks for the ph#, I contacted Cornfield Customs. They have done a few of the newer 1940/46 fenders in the past. The fenders run around $2,500 each, it's the hours involved. I expected it to be more than I could spend, but It would be worth it to the right builder.
I checked out there site & WOW they do some osum work over there.
For me, I'll keep watching for an original steel left rear 1939 Chevy truck fender.:(

  22. OUCH! wash ur mouth out with soap. LOL, they let U say those bad words in this forum???
    LOL, just joking...
I'm having to much fun looking for parts like these. But who woulda thunk, it would be so hard finding something as big as a fender.
Taking a saying from the American Pickers on TV, "rusty gold" I like rusty gold. Fibergl*** don't rust.

WOW , that's a lot . Did he say how many hours ? For 5K you could buy an old donee truck . Good luck lots of rocks to turnover to find that gold .

  24. It is a-lot, but I would guess that if some one were building a $60/70,000 truck & if the fenders were ready for paint, than it may be worth it? This is a one year only fender. The only other option would be to find a newer 1940 to 46 fender & add 1.1/2" to make it wider. Or find a 1937/38 fender & flatten the molded bead on the outer edge?

I've been tossed out of other places... Oh wait, you guys already knew that...

Are these rear fenders for your wrecker body? Isn't a flat surface, wouldn't lots of fenders work? OH... maybe you're trying to match the front.....

  26. Yeap, I'm still working on the COE. Any fender would fit but I'm to stubern. I want the body to stay 1939. I have a real good right side fender, just need the left one. I still have so much to do that I don't need it yet, but I would love to check this one off my list.
Other than a few suspension parts that I let an experianced welder do, I'm doing everything my self, & learning as I go. So It's a very slow build, "never doing anything like this before". Hopfully I will live long enough to drive it around the block some day. LOL
I have always been an Oldschool lowrider. Mostly original, lowered, chromed-up, loud pipes with Chevy six's. Never had a V8 in any of my cars.
1939 being Chevy's first year for COE's, I wanted one real bad. Found this one in Arkans*** & had it shipped to Oregon. Than I realized that I would never want to drive this big beast in it's original heavy duty arm strong steering, powerless, brake-less exsedra exs. exs, LOL. So I desided it needed to be hot-roded. So I got on the computer looking for ideas, I found H.A.M.B. & have been blown-away with the craftsman that build these cool rides. You guys have a real talent & I'm like a spunge, trying to soak up any tips I can.
But it's hard to give up my oldschool ways. My 39 two door sedan now has a 4" drop axle, a 261 Chevy 6 with headers & dual carbs & electirc under the original front seat. That's as hotrod as I have ever been, LOL... But even this truck will have a sunvisor, spotlights, foglights & whitewalls, thats a must. All my rides have sported these accessories + more. Thats the OLDSCHOOL way, to old to change.
