Projects A Full-Fendered Side Project

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Ryan, Feb 15, 2016.

  1. Nice work. Never mind about the colour of the frame as long as it's black. :)
    I like the dull finish.

  2. The speed that this is being done, makes for a very enjoyable read.

Was more than appropriate. i'm not looking to see the bill for this one. I am interested in getting a traditional hot rod and was wondering what type of budget in general that is needed to start.

Doesn't offend me at all... Hell, I'd be curious...

    I'll ask Keith.

Wheels came back from powder coating today. Keith has been using Highpoint Powder Coating in Liberty Hill, TX. Most of the stuff that comes back looks like paint. In fact, I was so impressed with their work that I had them do some super rare and super expensive wheels for an off topic car of mine... Came back perfect. This isn't a paid plug or anything, I'm just super impressed. So, if your in Texas look them up...

Anyway, so yeah... We got it on the ground today. Big step for the morale!

I knew Keith had to be keeping a pretty steady pace considering the progress, but man he really is a blur in this shot. Not knocking your camera skills boss.

The whole "Keith in blur" thing was a conscience decision I made when I first started covering his work last year. The idea here was for me to cover Keith as he works and to kind of let the audience in on the shop environment through pictures.

If you've ever been in his shop before, you know there are no stools and no time to stand around. Dude is constantly doing something. Example... You know how when you get back from lunch you typically fart around for ten minutes or so just to get back in the groove? Keith doesn't. He just gets right back in it... immediately...

Anyway, my idea was to kind of portray that by rarely having a clean shot of him....

Note how low the fender braces are over those front tires. This coupe should sit really low when done. There isn't even any body or engine weight in it and it's already a crouching tiger.

  13. More afraid of a brake hose made by an American than one made in China?

Now I'm just messing with ya Larry!

In any case, yeah... body back on the chassis... Starting to look like a car again. Can't wait to see the fenders on it.

  28. No no. That's obviously a chopped top beetle that Ryan is having that hamber turn into a 32 roadster
