Known as "Mrs. Thunderbird" at Ford Motor Company
Lois Eminger worked for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, and eventually retired after many years of service to the company. She had earned the nickname of "Mrs. Thunderbird" among Ford employees, and for good reason. She was the lady given the task of communicating with Thunderbird owners who corresponded with Ford about their cars, especially if it were an older model that was no longer covered by a warranty.

    Great stuff everyone.
When I look at some of these photos, especially the ones from the depression era I just have to think we got it pretty damn good. I know for a fact that we (our society as a whole) have it real good because when I was growing up, I was told many times how things were in the early 30's. Nowadays, some people think the biggest issue of their day is finding their cel phone battery is dead. Don't want to say these early photos are depressing, just think we need to put our lives in perspective and be thankful this Easter.
Thanks again for making this thread one of the most enjoyable ones on the HAMB.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg went thru my dads photos today just for this thread. I believe most pics are pre 1959 with a few from the late 60s. All owned by my dad. check out the snazzy home made camper shell on the 48 Chev pickup. Oh yea....we were rich beyond our means.

I noticed mentions of Wynnum and Manly on the T. These are Bayside suburbs of Brisbane and in fact I was just down there on Friday for a 50th birthday party. This area was one of the early hot hod centres in the mid 60's and 70's and there are still a number of active rodders that live there now.
