At the moment I can't find any more money to throw at it Danny. I'll give Spanky a call, as he seems to have a good supply.

Slower than I'd like, but I'm patient. Just enjoying the ride.

  8. That's what buckwheat told me :)

Everything goes and moves well on everyone else's so I decided I need to work on mine. Beg barrow make time and mine started moving again. Long hours and late nights with a good friend who's a great craftsman.

thought was doing just fine by standing outside the window with a big basket to catch all of that cash being tossed away - problem is, used a basket that was on Sale for 1/2 off - had no bottom - an endless cycle

I have 2 projects ''waiting'' at the moment....broke my right wrist yanking a car frame on the floor 2 weeks ago! It's healing, but damn slow...the cast is kinda ''in the way''o_O:(....bummed I can't work on my cars, but the vision is still bright!! Drinking a lot of coffee in the garage and mumbling to myself seems like progress if ya' can't do anything else, right???---- Ray

Well, after 3 years of collecting parts my '37 truck still sits on the shop floor. Around 80 or 90% there material wise, just have to find time to glue it all together. Will be 400 Pontiac powered with 2-4's at first then hopefully topped with a 6-71.

Spanky reminds me of all the bucks parents spend sending their kids to college, does that ever end? I'm loosing sight of the reason to finish a project, how would the hobby change with a finished project? I did pick up two cans of unopened paint remover at the dump, front fenders on the Steelback are in bare steel now, that's progress. Bob

Project going far better than expected, which can only mean there's something bad around the corner..........

  18. It's going good, not exactly mine per se, it's fun to have free reign on a build and not have to pay for it. The guy will be super stoked when he gets to drive it in a few weeks.

Little changes this year, the car has been on the road for four years, and some stuff has been bugging me since the original build.. The right wiper relocation is almost complete. Removal of the louvers in the vent box cover and replacing them with a permanent open cowl scoop is next on line. Then I'm going to raise the front bumper 1 1/2" -2" and change the front turn signal lights. I want to lower the rear bumper 3"-4", which will require a new filler panel. The white needs to be repainted, and maybe the blue as well (don't expect much, I'm doing it myself). I'm intending on wrapping the steering wheel. New tires are also in the plans. Every thing will be one thing at a time, until that step is complete before moving to the next step. We will see how far I get before the driving season hits, or the money runs out. The money took a pretty good hit, I get to send Uncle Sam additional funding this year. Gene

Ha ha. Definitely looks like me throwing money at my project (Into the money pit)!! The hiatus is temporarily over as I managed to bite the bullet and push forward with this gummy shoulder doing some work over Easter. It's more than I've done in the last 1 1/2yrs. I'm getting older and reticent on pushing the boundaries too soon as to actual physical abilities now when compared to what they were before surgery.
I definitely won't be paying anyone to do anything except when it's an absolute necessity and needs to be done.

I'm getting down to the short strokes on my rpu project.............finally. The headers have been a major stumbling block, I couldn't pull the body back off for body work till they were done, but this past weekend we got them done and this Friday I can take them to the ceramic coater's for coating.

I have the majority of the big, expensive parts already sitting there, so I only need to have a driveshaft, radiator, and aluminum gas tank built to get it running.

Body work will be relatively easy because I am going to leave this one somewhat rough, and then that only leaves a trip to the upholsterer. I went to the tax office (our Florida version of the DMV) last week and picked up the forms so I can get the title work done. I am going to do this one as an "Assembled from parts" car, instead of using a "Historical Document" to get it registered. The other night I got all my receipts for parts put in a folder to take to the tax office, and it was over an inch thick ! I wondered where all my money has been going, now I know.

I hate to predict when it will be on the road (I NEVER hit my target date) but I would like to drive this one to Turkey Run in November.

    Don

My coupe is on hold for a couple of weeks while I work on a pair of model Ts. Motor swap will pay for the rest of the parts I need to finish. As soon as the Ts are gone the coupe comes apart for paint. I did receive my tires in the mail on Friday!
