I have no idea how many were made in OZ, but I know their survival rate is way less that what it was here even through a war scrap drive and the whole jalopy racing deal in the 50's as they became literally destroyed even before they hit the track, that goes for 3W's too = very sad, but with that said I've yet to ever have cut one up or chop it up.

If I could repair one and make another out of the one pictured or the dented one in the image below it, then it would be adding a cool coupe and roadster to the rodding world and that actually would make driving cars out of them.

I find it strange that when a 4 dr sedan is changed into a 5W Coupe as seen here on the HAMB, not a negative word was said about it's change from a sedan to a coupe. I've seen it done with Tudors to 3W Coupes as well. That's Hot Rodding guys,not Restoration. I trust that we're all mostly Hot Rodders here?????

These cars are not for static display. Die Cast and Resin/Plastic 1/25 scale models are for that and most of us may have those as well just to look at.
I really like to drive em Thom, I think you know that when we met at the L.A. Roadster Show a few years back.

RCC&RC run participants like to drive em too. How many cars come from the US? Several that I know of personally in all shapes and condition they're made into Very Nice Hot Rods and some just were obtained by front sections, back sections, frames and incomplete cars.

If one has unlimited funds,then the sky is the limit. If not, then we gotta build from what is there and thats what the pioneers in this whole Hot Rod way of life did so many years ago when this "gold" was just a bunch of old tin to clock times in.

I hear what you're saying, but, due to our isolated spot on the map , I suppose beggars can't be chooses. One striking thing that stood out on my visits stateside was the availability of projects, cars and parts etc.
We spend days on days scrounging at our largest swap meet usually coming away disappointed. When I see a coupe like that pictured my instant thought is well, that can be saved and brought back to life.

Ron,you have any detail picks of your front seat? My Tudor has the stock fordor seat frame and I wanna know what I need for tack strips and backing for the upholstery.

My body had no seats when I got it so I had to go another route. I tried some small buckets but yanked them and wound up cutting down a 3rd row bench out of a Ford Expedition for the front and made up a plywood duplicate for the rear. Not sure how they're going to turn out but the upholstery guy should have them ready any day so we shall see.

I'll post some pics when I get it mounted.
