It may be confused, but it does have a solid focus and direction and sometimes that's all you need. It turned out really nice.

The term "confused" is not quite PC, I think it better to say the truck "identifies" as a 32.

  5. Well that threw me, I remember reading your thread on this truck, and last pics I saw were in primer, and I'd figured it would get painted a stock color.

I'm happy to be wrong, that gold is fantastic.

Cab and firewall is '34, Chassis and grille is '32.
I assumed that is where the term 'confused' came from....

  7. Exactly, the '34 cab has the extra wide bead on the back of the cab and the firewall, while not a bolt in piece like the '32 does give the driver a couple of extra inches of interior room. HRP

Looking great. The contrast of the gold and beige work well.

  16. Missed these two.

The truck is now running,a lot on odds & ends need to be addressed,as does the head lights need wiring and hood needs to be installed and of course the windshield and all the glass. HRP

Your buddy Dave keeps a clean shop. I couldn't live like that!

That's really a beauty. That gold gives it an early 60s vibe.
Those headlights look similar to the ones you had on your 32 pickup Danny. I'd like to install larger ones on mine. Where are they from?

That does look like a spanking brand new garage. Even tongue and groove panels on the back wall.
That pickup picture on that back wall looks very similar to my 34.

  19. Yeah Chuck, Dave is a neat nick but this is the closed off part of his shop he does upholstery & assembly, the fabrication and painting is done on the other side.

  20. The headlights on my truck were original with the new Bob Drake halogen reflector kit.

Dave bought the headlights from Bob Drake with the the halogen reflectors already installed.

This part of the shop was added on about 8 years ago,it has heat & air,a couch & chair, big screen TV, Dave spends more time in the shop than in his house.

The photo's on the wall is Dave's first pickup and his '40 Ford coupe, that's my old roadster in the background of both photos. HRP

    Thanks.
Sure hope it's just a hood lid with no sides. That engines too nice to hide away.

  25. Nah,Dave has a nice 25 louver hood.

It's the original style with the wide louvers so the engine will be visible even with the hood closed.

Danny--it looks great! Still regret selling my truck almost 30 years ago.....I`ll live vicariously through yours, if that`s O.K......

P.S. How are you doing? Still going to Physical Therapy?

Good to hear your getting better Danny. Hey did you get a chance to ask Dave about his other rims?
