A while back I reluctantly went to using a handicap scooter to get around....so I built this little teardrop trailer to haul it to car shows/swap meet/etc.
As all of my projects are low budget, I used what I had laying around, or bought reasonable stuff.
Didn't turn out to be the real teardrop profile I wanted, but I needed to keep it small and light so I could move it around myself, and was limited by the space and size of the original trailer...
I wound up cutting down a 6K trailer axle in order to get the wheel pattern I needed, as I wanted to use a pair of old Ansen wheels that I had laying around to match the wheels on my car, as well as use a common spare.....worked out real well.
Fenders are a motor home spare tire cover cut in half with brackets added...
Other stuff is all old scrap steel that I had laying around in the shop...
I bought the used trailer for $125 to start with... so don't have a whole lot in it..
Still need to add a lot of trim on the edges, as well as a bit of "Bling" to class it up, but am happy so far...and it pulled real well today :)

  2. That's. Cool little hauler you built there! Do you find it hard to back up with the short tongue?

Yes, you have to pay attention, and go slow.....but it is light enough, and I put a wheel jack on it so it pushes real easy ...

There is a piano hinge in the top center....the back half opens up from there...I use small ramps to run the scooter up and in place..
