image.jpeg Lol yeah it was special but it honestly looked like something drug out of a ditch not something newly constructed. It's not a hotrod or custom but it's still kinda fun to look at.

I went over to royboyproductions.com to see travis's coverage so far and was shocked to see five installments already! He only took about a billion photos.

In them were quite a few cars I missed that I wish I had seen, probably walked right past them lol but he did have a photo of the nailhead pickup that Sarah had picked

  3. LOL actually if I had the heap that I called an abortion I would be all about figuring out a way to make the roof line right ( looks like a mild chop would do it) and adding a trunk to it and driving it. :D

It was easy to miss cars even if you knew they were present! I keep following travis's coverage and I see awesome stuff that I must and plain walked right past with out noticing them :/

  24. Tim,
Thanks for taking time out of you day to tell the story and post all the great photos. I really wanted to make it this year, but fell a couple weeks short on having the 3 window road ready.
See you some where this summer I hope.

Thanks for all of the pictures. This was our first trip to the Roundup. We really enjoyed it. There was more to do than time to do it.

  28. Hey Guys...GREAT Pic's and coverage.. I'm an Austinite, so I didn't have to travel too far to enjoy LSRU!

But unfortunately, I wasn't able to see the whole thing... being a bit older, my feet/knees/thighs just couldn't take the MILES of walking it would take to see all the cars...

With that, I just wrote a note to the organizers suggesting that perhaps they could categorize the layout for the cars based on manufacturers (Ford, Mopar, Chevy, Rat Rod, etc.) based on this year's registration numbers so that we all wouldn't have to walk the entire grounds to see the cars that we are interested in. I know that the populations would vary, but not a great deal - so that a reasonable estimate could be made of how much "land" could be set aside for each type of car.

If ya'll think this is a reasonable suggestion, you could write an email to them at "info@lonestarroundup.com". Any comments?

I'm not sure how feasible that would be with the various times of people showing up and the amount of cars that register at the show but I understand the idea.

The down side I would see is I would walk by 90% of the cars. If there was a whole row of 54 Chevys side by side I'd look at about the first two and then power walk past the rest.

Something I've seen at a few other large shows is a flat bed trailer more or less giving hay rides along the path of the show. I'm young and I was to beat too look at everything so I'm right there with you. Letting golf carts in would be a dang nightmare.

With the various clearances, the tight space at the show and the changes from dirt to asphalt to grass I don't think there's really a realistic solution out side of admiting that your not going to see it all and to bring some shade/ water with you.

To be honest I notice that a lot of shows have multiple entrances but only one designated exit, often to help control and direct traffic. So I typically set up near the exit. I walk around as much as I care too and the. Grab a cold drink and watch them cruise past me!

Every year I try to get my buddies interested in driving to Texas for the show and every year we wimp out...after reading your take on it, next year I'm trying harder!
    Thanks again!
