O.K. I think it's time for Falcon George to weigh in on this one! How much HP/torque increase from a .030 over tree-fiddy? :D (all else being equal)

"Two words you should NEVER use," the boss advised his new secretary.
"One of them is 'terrific', and the other is 'lousy'."
    Secretary: "What are the words?"

Rhetoric is popular. Present admin speaks it fluently.

This was an actual question from "Bench Session" in Rod & Custom long long ago:
    "What's the difference between a 350 Ford and a 350 Chevy?" o_O
(The answer, probably tongue-in-cheek: " 'Bout 35 horsepower in stock form.")

So if you have a double roller timing chain you get 720 degrees? Is that a rhetorical question :)

Back in the mid 80's I remember kids running up to rods and looking in at the speedometer and saying "this one's faster it has a 140 mph speedometer" At the time the general question from kids was "how fast is it"
Now all you get from the current crop of kids is "what's it worth?"

ok guys, i have a cam in my flatty that is stamped on the end 3/4. what size is it?
here's another one, why is it called a sun visor, yet when you turn it to cover the door gl*** it never covers the whole gl***. always leaves several inches short on every car i have owned. naturally that is exactly where the sun is at too. is this rhetorical? ah hell i don't even care after reading all this stuff anyway. my head hurts and i think i am going blind.

For a short time, and still nowhere near that number, GMs high performance division called out some cams in CRANKSHAFT degrees vs CAMSHAFT degrees like everyone else. He was a ****in poser trying to look like he knew his ****. Stock 402 oval port motor pulled from a pickup with leaky headers and some hot rod stickers in the back windows of a rusty 71 Malibu. I didn't have to be careful about anything.

Thats how I always refer to them. Gott admit though, when some guy tells me he has a 383, i still have to stop and remind myself that it might not be a Mopar.
No, I know, I am just goofing around a little. IIRC, I think the ZL-1 cam was listed as 346??

  27. LOL when that song was popular there were still hot dawg stands that sold everything ala cart, or you could by the basket. I never understood why anyone would by a burger and an order of fries when they could just buy the basket.

**** Scotties drive in had fries for 11 cents and a small coke for a dime and the missus and I had to pool our funds more then once to get an order of fries and a coke. We had a fast car though. ;)

I think you're right on that one George. I recall a wild cam that was over 360 just a bit, yet again they were specified as crankshaft degrees for desired timing. In that context it makes sense but it's an extinct way of such work in general.

As to the "Facebook" comments, I think it's more a topic similar to a group of guys hangin out on a Sat morning sippin coffee on a milk crate, talkin smack and bustin balls, remembering that mope that used to hang around even though nobody liked him. What's wrong with that? Don't we all recall that guy? Doesn't have a negative effect on my time here. I can always say **** this post and move on, right?

Then you got the Isky "5 cycle" cam... Legendary!

  30. Actually I don't suffer from little **** syndrome, I know that I am not donkey man and have come to terms with it. Now I just don't date women with big pussies. ;)

And for the fellas dating younger women before I married my first wife the second time and I was still dating and such I found that if I only dated or lived with women older than my daughter I felt less like Chester the Molester. Uh think about it. :D :D ;D
