We got the rear brakes all finished up over the weekend, got the line loc bolted on, master cylinder bolted on, ready to run hard lines. Also got the front crossmember made for the radiator/fuel tank mount. Then got that all painted, the radiator painted, and everything bolted on. Gonna try to start the car by next weekend. The front clip is just laying on it to see what it will look like.

We've been thrashing trying to get the car done. Got the intake bolted on permanent, dad built the carbs, we got the fuel lines ran today. Got the flywheel and starter bolted on. A little wiring and a couple hoses, and the car should start.

We got it started today, and really no issues with the motor. So we are gonna keep working and try as hard as we can to make it. We might have something for C gas this year.

It does sound pretty good for a baby rat motor.

Got the clutch, pressure plate, and bellhousing on over the weekend, and got the transmission in it. Dads gonna set the gear up tonight. Dropped my yoke and dimensions off at the driveshaft shop, should be picking it up tomorrow. Still gotta mount the shocks, mount the drivers door, finish brake lines, mount the front end, make the clutch linkage, and pop the windshield in it, along with a little wiring. Late nights, and probably dad will take off from work a few days, but we are gonna really try to make it. Everything has fought us, and having to do things like dad had to lathe a line up tool because nobody had a Chrysler 18 spline one, and he had to mill the billet main caps to fit (which we knew would have to be done just time consuming) is killing us. But we're gonna work up till Saturday morning if we have to.

And here is a picture I took of him when he was going through my carbs. Milk crates stacked up with a wooden creeper laying across them as a bench, building two holleys. That's old school. Can't thank my dad enough for the late nights, early mornings, and endless hours that he's spent in the garage with me while we've built this car.

I envy you having the time with your Dad like that. Can't put a price on that.

Me and dad finished up the brake lines tonight, and dad got the rear end finished up, with the gear set up. Should be driving it around the block in a few days. Trying to get a couple test p***es before Union.

Also got the drive line made. .083 3" shaft, 1350 ****er solid pin joints, and strange chromoly yokes. Also got Mark Williams steel caps in the Dana. Should stand up to the 396 no problem.

Finally, got the shifter on the transmission, and the linkage hooked up. Now time to get some sleep, gotta get up early and put it in, and start up on clutch linkage. The first voyage around the neighborhood is getting close.
