Guy I know had a copy of this in his window at the AZ Deuce Day show. Original from a news story at Hinkley's Lighting on Central?, somebody had cut him off. Hmmm.

Scanned in from a 1964 Gazette Sunday Extra insert:
Looks like Central and McDowell was a hot spot for miscreants and spirited driving. The judge was having none of it.

We raced there in 1965 (AHRA Winter Nats) I was 18 and my buddy was 20. We towed my hotrod on the ground from Baytown, Texas (thats 35 miles East of Houston) to Scottsdale. Got a bunch of help from Del Blades and Friendly Chevrolet. Long story, too much for this thread! Great people...
Note: we had to finish the assembly in Friendly's parking lot and made a full pass down the main street that runs in front of the dealership. Open headers the whole deal sometime after midnight...

This guy's been posting some neat original AZ photographs I haven't seen before on ebay recently. Probably won't be bidding on any myself but if anybody else here gets some I'd love to see them sans watermark. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sgt.stuff/m.html?item=351580098902&hash=item51dbce9156:g:STIAAOSwFGNWSTio&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

Matt, remind me to show the package that JR sent me after his last visit down to the shop.

Pretty unlikely being in Georgia but gotta wonder if that is a dolled up Moxley slick in this old episode of American Pickers.

Last minute Christmas shopping at antique stores and spotted these in some old yearbooks.

Some cool actual photographs from J.R. Bloom I grabbed from a guy at the swap meet this morning. He had a small box full but was set on $15.00 a piece so I just grabbed two that looked the most interesting.

Pretty sure this is in one of the exhibition buildings at the State Fairgrounds, late 60s/early 70s?
    002.jpg
This was snapped right on the corner of Lewis and 8th. Ave. Your back would be to Encanto Park and the golf course.

Did some quick searching online and this could be the "State Fair Exhibit Building" where they have things like an annual used book sale. Even has some of the old light fixtures still remaining and if you look close, the sign on the Vette in the foreground reads custom painting by A.M.T. Corp. 1401 East Washington Phoenix Arizona.

Looks like the same Corvette above in this pic of the A.M.T. lot.

Looked like a clean T. Regretted not grabbing the other pic of it, rear shot with it in the driveway.

Heard about the demo but hadn't seen it myself yet. Really screwed up!

Still in the process of watching it, have it paused but thanks big time for the youtube video. Amazing stuff, lobby looked huge and even shows the in floor turn table being built. Lots of gems in the background too!

The good news with Stewart motors is that they only took out a hole in the North end of the building before retreating. The vast majority of the building is intact. I went past Saturday night in the 'Bucket when the dog and I were out riding. Took an awful lot to drive past considering what I heard.

Back to Chauvin's roadster, did ya know that Ronnie painted that back then?

I know it's not likely but let's hope for a Johnie's Broiler scenario with this one. Knew about Ronnie doing the yellow, did he do the raspberryish color too? Heard Ed might do a resto on it, sure would be neat to see it with an injected Olds again.

Here's how the demo company left the old Stewart Motors building before they packed up and split.
